I don't know enough about Scott to say for sure, but I think he'd be a good choice if we can get him. And I want to keep Barton just in case Gladys can't get her act together. I've heard good things about Trusnik and he looked good last season, so maybe we have something there too.
how is it that everyone is suddenly ok with vernon gholston starting? seriously i dont give a damn what the coach says before he has ever seen him practice, DO NOT COUNT ON GHOLSTON. hope and pray for him sure but my god dont count on him. i would take either one of them in a heartbeat, dont even care which one they are both very good players, lewis the better player scott the younger. either one. they will both probably cost an arm and a leg though.
I think Rex will deliver the attitude and mentality that we need. No need to get Lewis for that when we can get a quasi-similar level of play cheaper and younger from Scott.
speaking of lb's, i think gholston should retire. gets his money without having to play that boring game of football, and we don't have a huge cap hit.
You will all know everything you need to know about Gholston by what shape he is in when he reports to camp this year. If there is any chance in hell that he ever makes it in the NFL then he better be in the best shape of his life and not that fat, slow mess he was at the end of last season. If he is then you know where his mind is.
Don, you really have no idea. There is a huge difference between being tentative about your assignments and being fat and out of shape. If you think Gholston is out of shape, then you're just clueless, but we already knew that.
Actually his cap hit would be close to $16 million, from his accelerated signing bonus. That sounds pretty big to me. hmy:
