Obviously the correct move but my god, this may be the worst receiver room in the history of the franchise and that's saying something.

Right…I get the release of older, high priced players…guys like AR, Adams, Mosely with a new rookie HC and GM…but this means rebuild.

    Again.

These moves make sense from the salary and cap standpoint, as will others like Mosely at this point, but the problem is the fact that so far, we don’t have better (or even “as good”) options to replace them. And yeah I get that we haven’t hit free agency or the draft yet, so its a bit premature to pass judgement, but there aren’t really a lot of good options out there for QB, and we have a lot of holes (WR, TE, RT, DT, CB, S, K) to fill and not a lot of draft picks or cap space to do it with.

So we’re looking at yet another losing season with no playoffs.

Very hard to get excited about next year

The Redskins were faced with same situation last year and they did an amazing job of building a team with quality players on one year contracts with something to prove.

They hit on their draft picks especially QB and put a great year together.

I believe Jets are trying to do the same thing, cut old players, bloated contracts and bring in high character/ quality football players on one year deals as they slowly build roster.

If it worked for Redskins, it can work for Jets.

QB is going to be the biggest question mark.

Gotta start somewhere I mean what’s the point of bringing back or paying aging vets another don’t move the needle? I’m excited for that reason alone we finally are cutting dead weight and building the right way I hope

Bad moves on top of bad moves. Which was worse, Adams or Reddick?

1976 - Jerome Barkum and a bunch of guys who played in like 4 games then retired. Thank the football gods for Rich Caster. Oh, and Barkum only played in 4 games that year. Looking back at the Lou Holtz era can make you feel better about any of the terrible crap that has happened since.

What's worked for Washington is changing owners.

That's not happening here, so no matter how much we go about replicating what they, or any other historically bad franchise that has turned it around lately, have done, it's not going to matter in the long run.

Woody used the same company the Redskins did to find his GM and HC.

I’m looking forward to FA and the draft and see how they implement their blueprint for building a team.

For now, my only concern is Tyrod as our QB, he’s old and gets hurt easily.

I'm aware, but the real change there was at the top.

The Jets can change coaches and GMs all they want, but nothing is going to change in any significant way until the team has new ownership.

Agreed. I liked his game. Fingers crossed his release is worth it to protect Garrett Wilson's Jets' future.

Duuuuude stop. Do you not remember Breshad Perriman was our intended #1 receiver one year? He was signed to replace Robbie Anderson, who was basically a Temu version #1 receiver the year prior. We haven’t had a true home grown quality receiver since Coles and Moss. Wilson is looking promising, and certainly better than anything we’ve had in almost 2 decades. We need a #2 and a TE.

The Redskins hit on Daniels. Nothing else is relevant.

We have some big shoes to fill.

How is our cap space now anyway?

Adams was a good player for us. Reddick stunk. This is not even a question. In fact, Adams was the best value JD got out of all his 3d round picks in 6 years here. Look at whom he got with these picks: Davante Adams, Hassan Reddick, Malachi Corley, Jeremy Ruckert, Ashtyn Davis, Jabari Zuniga.

Adams was a really good starter for 1 year at a premium position. You cannot say that for ANY of his 3d round investments. Also, this shows you how terrible of a GM JD is, but Adams is literally the least of his problems when it came to using (wasting in JD's case) 3d round picks. He couldn't even get a single good year out of anyone else!

This isn't any more true then the shallow supporting logic that had people believing Aaron Rodgers to the jets was going to be playoff level productive because "better QB".

The 2024 version of Jayden Daniels realistically looks much much different and less productive *here* in NY for example, and without that Commander coaching staff in the mix. Don't sell Quinn and his decision to bring in a great fit OC hire in Kingsbury short there.

Daniels, like anybody else we might try to draft, doesn't "hit" here simply because Woody ok's the draft pick lol.

Throw these kids to the wolves and you tend to get a lot more chewed up results.

That’s an over simplification of how they built the team. Yes, you are right, but that was not a guarantee, signing Ertz on a one year deal helped Daniels development. Having veteran coaches on the staff helped him as well.

Jalen Milrose might end up as a jets QB this draft, if that’s the case he will need solid players around him to help him develop.

Financially it makes sense, although Wilson is going to want to be paid soon, so it may just all go there.
