I'm as devastated as all you guus are The facts are hes had a good season. First time he played sammy. Sammy was shut down. Revis got burnt but for the most part mccoy killed us. Today Revis was being outplayed. Coaching staff at some point has to adjust coverage, either with a different corner back or miltiple coverage at the same time. There was no run game. No other reciever did anything. Blame defensive coordinator not Revis 9/10 hes better than the person hes covering. Today the WR was better. Doesnt mean u leave him in single coverage all game long and watch him get torched
I have to think Revis playing so far off was scheme and not him playing horribly. There were a couple of routes where he slipped and got fooled by Watkins but they showed the replay of the flea flicker and Revis was with Watkins the whole way.
Well that's the thing, it wasn't that he was bad, but he clearly needed help. He was getting beat on cuts in and out. He needed to press man with help over the top. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
The reason Revis was able to stay with Watkins on the route was that Watkins waited too long in decoy mode. He was just loafing down the field hoping to catch Revis flat-footed and by the time he really took off he was just using up the cushion that Revis was giving him and the pressure on the passer was already there. That was a very smart play by Revis and an example of where another player probably gets burned.
Why does this idea that Revis just let himself keep getting beat and didn't do anything about it? He wasn't like, "Hey, I've been the best CB in the league for years and I think I need to play up at the line, coach." The idea that Revis was "forced" to play off is silly.
Jeremy he was forced into single coverage against the ONLY target the bills had. is it not possible that hes not better than every receiver in the league. ?....
I'm 100% in with this notion... but honestly...I'm NOT making an excuse but do you guys think he's been worse since the concussion? He looked fine in Dallas...idk...something is up because we've never seen Revis play that far off at times... and considering the Wind, there was no reason to think he was gonna get beat deep. idk...I'll rewatch it at some point but I have to look at the coverages because I've never seen that.
Most of the team sucked today. Revis running out shows his lack of class. I hope he gets fined, losing a dime always killed him.
He's our highest paid player on the team and he was abused all day. Revis isn't the same as he once was (crazy to think people were actually debating this recently) and unlike Cromartie we are stuck with him longer. I also don't get why Marcus Williams who is a ball hawk continues to get limited snaps
We just need to keep him for 1 more season before we can cut him without getting too screwed. If we cut him in 2017, we will save $7.3 mil according to overthecap.com.
Revis didn't play well but what in the fucking world was the game plan? Play Revis 11 yards off and let Watkins catch the ball in front of him every other play with no underneath coverage? It's like we were waiting for the double move that never came all game long. It was absolutely perplexing. Every 3rd down playing the entire secondary a couple yards behind the marker. It looked like a deep cover 3 shell on Revis' side with man on the other side only Revis had no help underneath. Revis sucked but the scheme was mind boggling when we gave them the 12 yard hook or out all game long without ever adjusting to it. Edit: At some point the player needs to become accountable though. He's a smart player. It was very obvious what they were doing and at times he was letting Watkins catch the ball 5 yards in front of him. Get on his ass and try to make some plays and accept potentially giving up a big play or else Buffalo's going to easily win the game.
