One of the enjoyable things about being at Sunday night's game was being able to watch Revis the entire game. It was probably the only enjoyable thing about Sunday night. Rain, cold, and an awful game=miserable night. But watching Revis play in and play out over the course of a game is worth every penny.
Here's a comparison.. devin mccourty, who Pats fans compared to Revis as im sure we all remember, is last in these categories. Revis - 3 catches, 38 yards Mccourty- 28 catches, 398 yards
Regarding the point made above about how relatively important a top CB is, I don't agree he's less important than any other defensive position. The ability to take away the opponent's top receiver in the league the way it is now, it being more of a passing league than ever, is a tremendous value, and allows the rest of the D to rejuggle coverages. Any other position even if held by a pro bowler can be dealt with if the rest of the D is not any good.
