Hah I wonder if Revis has been reading this thread! I agree with him. It's time to move on. A lot of folks ARE still very bitter. After what he did for the Jets I have nothing but love for him.

That qb cap talk on the previous page was a really good discussion, interesting to read. and then I get to this stupidity, do we really have to talk about this Twitter crap? Revis is an idiot if he thought fans weren't gonna give him shit on the internet. it's the internet, the place people go to talk shit. are jets fans coming to your house? are they stalking you? No. So stfu and don't mention the Jets or its fans.

The reason being that you've spent a chunk of the cap on a guy who was already there and you've got less flexibility to either keep guys or pick up comparable talent, right?

Based on what little I remember of the 2008 season, I'd suggest potentially writing that one off as an anomaly, which only strengthens your case. One question, however: Where's Brady fit in this? I forget what kind of terms he operates under.

That's certainly a logical position in theory, but the example of the Colts given earlier in the thread is a screaming counter-example. I'm still surprised that Manning never won more than a single Super Bowl, but then again, they had the misfortune of running into the Patriots twice. It might be evidence that yes, Virginia, you can spend too much on a quarterback who, despite setting records and the like, doesn't have the rest of the team to get them to ultimate victory. What'd Manning make at his peak with the Colts, anyway?

As for Flacco, despite the fact that I thought he was somewhat underrated prior to the Ravens' win, I'm not sure that he's worth a whole pile of money and certainly not what Brady and others in that tier of player earn. On the other hand, had I been a betting man, I would have stolen money from buddies of mine on a regular basis by making a few bets with Flacco's name on them.

I like this theory. It might prevent teams from being stuck with a Manning scenario and might not prevent a useful (read: profitable) distribution of competition.

Back on topic for a second: The way I see it, Revis, and indeed any player, may seek whatever value they can get so long as they, and the teams in question, behave themselves according to the terms of contracts under which they operate. I do, however, reserve the right to grumble if and when said players and teams do something that I don't like.

I think honestly in his heart of hearts he still wishes he was here. Honestly in all of our heart of hearts we all wish he was still here. Swap out Milliner for Revis and draft Richardson, we ALL would do that. Problem is some eh wanted money, he wanted security. And i have no problem with that, look at what just happened to Ed Reed he got cut.

Some fans honestly will never understand the business side of things and just get got caught up with the fact that the player left their team. Really Tampa Bay over New York no one in their right mind makes that decision but throw in the money which is significantly higher there and its a no brainer, especially when you have probably been told lie after lie after lie.

An idiot fan makes decision to tweet something dumb. Player reacts = idiot fan is happy.

An idiot player chooses to read and react to a dumb tweet = idiot player is unhappy.

Tell me which one of them is a bigger idiot?

Being a happy idiot doesn't make you less dumb. Any performer of any kind who says he doesn't read his own feedback is a liar. So I'm going to have to go with the legion of morons, who I'm guessing you're one of, who berate a player for getting traded.

Revis was a great player for us there's no denying that but that position just doesn't warrant that kind of $, even if we could afford it.

He can say what he wants but his actions really tell the story, he's a selfish player who would hold you up every few years for extra dough.
He'd never be the kind of guy that would restructure to free up cash to sign other players and he never came across as a leader in the locker room.

I'm not sorry to see him wearing another teams colors.

Guess again. I don't even have a tweeter account. Nor a facebook one as a matter of fact.

The point is fans' behaviour is idiotic, but expected and understanable. They are like a pack of wolves attacking a deer.

Rives's behaviour is NOT reasonable. He has an easy option of shutting down this collective barking by simply not listening to it. Yet he chooses to read and fuel the fire. Moron.

Every player who has a twitter reads it. Thats the point of having one. He's human just like everyone who tweets him. I dont know why anyone expects athletes to act different than anyone else.

Nope Revis is the only player ever who would rather have an extra 5 million dollars a year. Everyone else would be loyal for sure.

Glad to see that Revis helped us out a little bit.

OT: Have to say, the discussion on the previous pages 11 and 12 were really good. Shame that it's a bit buried in this thread, but worth reading.

You think Revis is the only athlete who gets shit from fans? Newsflash: ANYBODY who is any kind of following gets shitload of hate tweets, daily. Athletes, politicians, actors, whatever.

The diff is that Revis chooses to take it to heart and respond to it

I guess what I'm really saying is this.

Revis wants to be loved, and adored, and pampered, and revered. He loves basking in the rays of glory, and “The Revis Island”, and the commercials, and Greenberg’s “keep Revis” failed movement.

Now that the perpetual failure of a team (Jets), dared to trade the best thing since the sliced bread that ever happen to them… and now have the audacity to be actually good without the defensive God and his Island??? And the fans of this failure actually dare to point out to THE CORNERBACK that crow tastes crappy!!

Revis is bitching because he thought he was CB King and now there are a bunch of yappy kids point fingers and shout that the King has no pants.
