Actually, watching him throw last night, I was impressed at how much zip he had on the ball. As for "arm strength", QBs normally get stronger as their careers go on, barring injury, so that shouldn't be a problem. Also, as others have said, it's more of a timing issue than an arm strength issue.
Don't think it was a physical issue seems like a timing one, with more reps Robbie's speed and Sam's bombs will become in sync. Kind of funny seeing these two hook up for a bomb already and watching Eli consistently overthrow Odell all game on Sunday
True - much like last year with Robby and Josh McCown. In fact, I was surprised last year that this didn't get more attention. I thought last year was one of the best seasons in a long long time for good old fashioned long completions by a Jets QB. It wasn't Namath to Maynard, but it did resemble O'Brien to Walker. As you say, these QB/WR relationships will develop for Sam. Last night I expected a connection to develop with Quincy, but the deep TD to Robby was a pleasant surprise that will only get better.
I am reading all these critical posts and the fact that we talking about a 21year old ( a couple of years out of HS???) is just shameful Here he is a kid from California with NATURAL FQB ability who can make ALL the throws..hey you dont get rated top one or two in the draft by Mayock if you didnt make the grade smh..and we are nitpicking !!! who cares if his hookups passing to RA are not pretty? >>>"Just Win Baby!!"
The only thing lacking on that play was a proper touchdown celebration. Robbie Anderson barely postured in the end-zone and Sam acted like it was no big deal. No high fives, no jumping assbumps...and worst of all, no choreographed team dance routines. What the fuck were these guys doing all pre-season?
Learning the friggen playbook instead of learning the art of self promotion. Youre right, what the fuck were these guys doing?
That was an awesome tweet! However, I was slightly less excited when I saw many other praising tweets from things he saw around the league this weekend. How selfish of me to want Sam to be the only player he gushed over. But, Jamaal got some love from him too, so that's good. Nice to be able to feel giddy for 5 days.
if he had thrown it any harder at the time he would have lead Robbie out of the Endzone. He won the ball halfway into the Endzone.
it's more timing then anything. he has the arm easily. he's gotta adjust to the speed difference between his shit WRs at USC and robbie who is a burner
