I tend to believe this story but some flavor of the same article was going to be written no matter which guy they got.

 

I tend to believe it based on the pre-draft stories that talked about how the Jets were only bringing in Mayfield, Rosen & Allen for local visits. They said Mac didn't bother bringing in Darnold because he thought he would be gone. Then they about faced and brought him in anyway shortly before the draft. And now it turns out they also had a private workout.

 

Me too. I kept saying “C’mon. Don’t fuck this up”.

That clip they showed of a fan saying “we thought if Marino was there, the Jets would take him. They must know something we don’t” was still ringing in my head.

I half expected to hear them say Allen. And I too would have thrown something at the T.V.

Maybe FINALLY it worked out for us.

 

Well they probably brought him in because he was here anyhow for the Giants earlier that week.

 

Darnold was my favourite last year and I really didn’t think Cleveland was going to pass on him so I fell in love with Allen.

We knew Rosen wasn’t going to the Browns, I didn’t think mayfield was even a consideration so I thought the Browns were taking Allen or Darnold with Darnold being a 10-1 favourite.

I still can’t believe he fell to us.... How did the Giants pass too.... absolutely crazy. We finally have a legit blue chip prospect at QB.

Yep. It sounds like a lot of puff that is written after a team makes a big impact pick, or even a medium one.

TBH, I don't care what they are thinking. I know what I thought of the guy and I want to see what he does.

Their big draft day story doesn't mean a rabbit turd if they put him in position to lose and he turns out like most other Jets QBs.

The only reason for this article in a rational sense is to sell a shit load of jerseys.
