Officially out with an ankle injury even though he says his ankle feels great and he’s running on it. Oh well, it’s not like we’re gonna win anyway
Speaking of which, I didn't know that Sam Darnold was jogging in Spain. Yet another fabulous typo by The Queen of Typos.
It's just Bowles trying to save himself with the veteran QB. Thankfully, as we saw against Buffalo, it's going to backfire spectacularly. An angry Pats team coming off a loss to a former pupil of Belicheat up against an offense that managed a whopping 1 yard in the first quarter against an all-time bad Bills team. Yeah, this is going to turn out well.
I don't think that there is either. At least, I certainly hope not. This whole thing just has desperation written all over it, though. They know they can't sit the rookie without pissing off the fanbase, but you can bet Bowles is going to go down with "his" guy.
To their credit, and I rarely credit this CS, they're using sound judgement and caution regarding Darnold. There was no reason to bring Sam back against the Patriots this week. If they really want Sam to face Belichek, there's always the last game of the season which in all likelyhood will be meaningless to the Patriots. Of course to the Jets, its their 2018 superbowl. For once they're using common sense. We should all be thankful for that.. Sam may not realize it now, but in the long run this is best.
His ankle is great yet he can’t play. If that’s not throwing your crappy coaching staff under the bus, I don’t know what is....
Honestly I don’t want toilet Bowles coaching Darold in any more games plus the talent around Sam stinks to high heaven!... watching the Saints 2 weeks in row Remind me what real football looks like .... just redshirt the kid the rest of the year.... one I don’t want him getting hurt ...two I’m convinced at this point there’s nothing This coaching staff could teach him.... if anything he’ll learn bad habits that our next coach will have to fix....and lastly let McCown take some of those hits he’s making 10 million plus let him earn that money
The only thing my brother that game may not be meaningless, there could be home field positioning the Pats are playing for, not that we would give them much of a fight ... and we know how much Belichick hates us....it would give him pleasure crushing the jets...I don’t want Darold subjected to a meaningless game to us
Brees is just on another level than most other QBs. With all their injuries on offense, he still gets it done throwing to guys off the practice squad and undrafted rookies. It’s incredible what he’s doing this year. He’s one of the few QBs who can make Wr look better than they really are.
I have to agree I know I know you learn on the field but I prefer an abundance of caution here. It’s just not worth playing him with so many injuries and Toilet Running the show. There are 3 ways to learn. By listening, be seeing, and by doing. Most learn by doing, but hopefully Sam learns in all 3 ways. I’d bet Mac is sitting him playing chess while Toilet is playing checkers thinking he has a vet who may save his job.
Sucks Sam won't be out there Sunday, but maybe it is for the best. What can Bowles and/or Bates really do for him over the next few weeks? Bc in all reality they are both (if not Bates, certainly Todd) out at seasons end. He would get an MVP vote from me if I had a say in it.
They're all on one page. Sam is healthy enough to play. The decision to sit him is coming from above Bowles, and of course Bowles is complying because he can't save his job anyway. He wants to get another job in the league, so no need to senselessly burn bridges.
This is correct Sam is healthy enough to play, however he just hasn't had enough practice time to be allowed to start. Glad this has been recognized higher up in the organization and he is being held out. You can't put Darnold out there with so little prep. Next week he'll start no doubt but this week it doesn't matter if it's the Patriots or the Raiders...can't start him
