Not sure who said what but I think he learned more by playing first. I am certain he wouldn’t be as good if he had been red shirted this year or held out for most of the season. I think what happens was the best way it could have broke. Throw him in the deep end, when he starts to drown pull him out let him catch his breathe and throw him back in.
The Patriots’ play the last 2 weeks gives me hope for 2019 They finish 3-5 on the road. 2 separate 2 game losing streaks, including one in December (never happens). First 5 loss season since 2009. They’ve lost to terrible Lions and Jags teams, and mediocre Titans and Dolphins teams. They look extremely vulnerable. Brady will turn 42. Gronk will likely be released. Could the dynasty seriously finally end in the same year where we get a year 2 jump from our franchise QB? Are the stars actually aligning in the absolute most perfect way? Here are the year 2 records of the most recent teams to draft a first round QB: - Rams: 11-5 (won NFC west) - Eagles: 13-3 (won SB) - Bears: 10-4 (won NFC north) - Chiefs: 11-3 (possess #1 seed) - Texans: 10-4 (possess #2 seed) The time is now. The Jets need to go all in this offseason.
yes somewhat....but the QB has to be surrounded with better talent at ALL offensive positions in order to have at least the opportunity to succeed. The ONLY position where we have depth and talent is at TE. R. anderson, IMO, is a slot receiver and not a #1. mayfield looks better than darnold at this point but i think some of that is the better team around him. we'll see, if there is one team that can fuck this up its the jets.
agree but do u trust the current team decision makers to do this? the teams in your list all had some viable pieces in place BEFORE the QB showed up. We really don't.
