wow... you guys are being dicks to jill. i mean shit, sorry if he and i were the only ones saying these things in the 3rd and early 4th quarter. i'd have to be doped up on elephant tranquilizers not to angry when we get a stupid delay of game penalty, or faneca blows his assignments on pass protection two plays in a row and seymour eats us up, or when cotch fumbles a first down, or keller drops an easy td, or when favre decides to run for it instead of throwing to a wide open leon on 3rd down. i dont get why your a dick if you point these things out. we dont expect the team to be perfect but if we would've sustained just one of those drives this game would've been a blow out.
I think the biggest problem was,we put no pressure on Cassel. 24-6 was unrealistic,the Pats were gonna score points and make it a game. But had we pressured and hit cassel more,OT would not have been nessesary to win. The way to beat NE has always been tp get to the QB. We showed it in 06,the Giants showed it in the SB. We were lucky to walk out of there with a win.
This darksider stuff is hard to swallow. You guys are impossible to please. Favre could take this team to the SB, play a magnificent game, retire in all glory on a magical swan song and you guys would bitch and crucify him for not playing 4 more years. Bottom line, we should have passed on third and 2 in the 4th and taken our chances that an 80% completion ratio picks up the 2 yds and then taken three kneels but we didn't and when it came time in the OT they manned up played their hearts out, burned up 7:50 or so and got it done as a team---enjoy.

Because we won...which is all that matters. What you're doing is nitpicking, not analyzing. Teams fuck up at one point or another during the game. When's the last time you saw a Patriot team mishandle a snap like Cassell and Koppen did? Shit happens. I know its very hard to think this way, but mistakes and blown assignments will happen in a football game. It's part of the game. We forced them to fuck up just as much, hell even moreso, than they forced us to fuck up. Thats been the major difference between these two teams since Mangini came if you've really paid attention. Most people don't even realize that besides the first game in the '07 season, the Pats haven't blown us out. Not counting that game, the most they beat us by was 10...and that was in last years record setting season...in their own house...they had more reason to be disappointed that game than we did (at the time anyway). The negatives on this team are so exaggerated...you can do this to every team...all it's doing is taking peoples eyes off the prize/big picture...whatever you want to call it.
jil is one of the most respected posters on this site, people. He knows more about football than most of the people around here. You don't have to agree with his views (I frequently don't), but calling him names isn't going to do anything. I, for one, always want to hear what he has to say, agree or not.

thats not nitpicking, thems just the facts. i'm very excited that we made these mistakes and still won the game in their house. previously we would've had to play perfect mistake free ball to beat this team. i just dont see the need to call jil names for having these thought AT THE TIME THEY HAPPENED. i dont see how getting upset makes u a darksider. by this logic yeah i'm a darksider then, i yell at my tv and curse up a storm when the jets mess up. sorry if i'm not a shiny happy person, i really dont even want to be. so please what are we allowed to talk about enlighten me? can we only discuss the plays the jets did well on? fine. ok. i really like how shotty is making an effort to get the ball to leon in space. i feel he's our most dynamic play maker and thats a great move. i also like how we're giving jones 20+ carries a game now, i think we can ride him all the way into the playoffs the way he's been running. his vision for the holes and the cutback lanes really seems to be on now. i just think jumping down a persons throat for getting upset when the jets messed up is an asshole thing to do. if your one of the people able to say "well its ok we'll just get em next time" great, good for you, but dont be a complete dick to those of us that are not.

First of all being totally committed and being able to defend one's position are mutually exclusive things! I'd be more than willing to enter into a discussion on any topic if the darksiders would do the same instead of calling me a troll and calling for me to be banned.
