Patriots are one of the better teams in the NFL and nobody game plans better than they do. Do you really expect domination from the Jets? This is pro football. Both sides are paid to do their jobs. You have to expect both teams to exploit each other at times. What kind of questions do you think pats fans are asking on their messageboards right now? They're probably bitching about not being able to pick off Favre or cover Keller. They're probably whining about their inability to shut down Jenkins. Get over it dude. Its as if you're expecting a perfect performance from the Jets. No game is perfect....especially against a top notch team. BTW, how many teams have successfully shut down Richard Seymour over the years? It just doesn't happen.
The fuckin so called sports writers dont have a clue. If any one thought we would go in Foxboro and blow them out, that is rediculas.
jil, I sympathize with your objective observations, but if you can't enjoy a win like this thoroughly the day after, I think you are missing the point. I'm not even going to look at the tape until Monday. I saw plenty of things I didn't like about that game, but to put it down on the Pats in Foxboro in a prime time, nationally televised game... no way am I going to shit on the joy that gave me. Take some time to swim in the tears of Pats fans, my friend. After all of the misery Belichick has provided us over the years, I believe we've earned it. A hard fought victory is the best kind in my book. No player on the Jets gave up for a second.
Jets took control of the Afc East with that win, nobody is saying we ended the Pats run. Stupid ass article.
Hmmmm..... to all of the novice wise ass posters that decided to "applaud" my attempt at a combination of humor with a tongue in cheek view of a roller coaster game that mirrors 40 years of jet frustration........ fuck off.... to those veteran posters that can appreciate, as i do, a grizzled fan that has seen it all..... thanks jil
I could list all the reasons why the Patriots won't make the playoffs this year, but I'm too lazy and the reasons are all too obvious... Age, injuries, complacency... Well, everyone else is pointing them out. It seems like some people just like to compile these long lists of things on this message board!!!
Funny how the Jets beating the Pats two years ago in NE with Brady is a fluke game, while the way Cassell hung over 400 yds on the Jets somehow says alot about the Jets and whether they have caught or perhaps surpassed the Pats. Ftr I think Cassell is pretty good, and the Jets pass D is still inconsistent. But the Jets showed something last night that not many people have done lately, and that is to be appreciated.
Would you like some cheese with your whin!!! First people said were not gonna beat NE now were in first and people are still crying like babies.. Making a whole list of things we woulda shoulda coulda done. What's done is done and were number one. Everybody knows we need help in certain areas but thas the NFL its a hour by hour day by day week by week month by month game.. This team was dismantled and placed together with all different types of players they are gonna adjust and jell more and more as the season goes on.
Man you are so right. I got so pissed in the second half I couldn't see straight. Jets go on a beautiful drive Touchdown! 31-24 The Jets D applied pressure, got a sack forced a punt. Almost get a first down to seal the deal, punt. pats take over drive to tie the game. If the Jets applied some pressure like they did the previous drive there is a good chance they stop the pats. If you get beat for the touchdown oh well the game turns out the same way so get some pressure on them. After the game it didn't even feel like we won. It was not until this morning it sunk in. I hate being this way and your response spoke volumes of wisdom to me.
Thanks for the objective point of view. Despite our first place position and 7 wins, this team has yet to be flawless in all facets in most games. This is an issue, and one that no good team has ever had before. The big question still remains: Can this team overcome it's stupid coaching staff? It's happened in 6 of the past 7 games, but how long can luck last?
Jet fans this, Jet fans that. Here's what cheesehead fans are like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84oVlwbsjg0 I have been a Jet fan for 30 years and have never burned anyone in effigy.
He just pointing out what he sees are weaknesses with the team. I cannot understand why whenever somebody points out some softness in the team others berate him immediately for "complaining". I'm sure if you look into what was posted you would find some truth in them. I think the OL stunk up the field on that 3rd & 2 right after the 2 minute warning in the 2nd half. Really dominant teams would have made that 1st down with there eyes closed & if we had the RM TD never would have occurred. Speaking of RM how about allowing a TD with 1 second left in the game? You think that shows we are a dominant team?
And despite all of this, we're still in first. Either way that says something about us. We have the talent to win despite these flaws or the flaws really arent that big. We got talent, and its all coming together. Look for better things in the coming weeks. Catch the wave at the right time and you can go all the way. Ask Strahan.
