I don't envy Ryan his job in the next couple of days. There probably aren't 22 guys that deserve to be cut and yet they will be.

I Gotta agree with you man, I Think thats whats going to happen too but damn if we go down a RB or 2 Woodhead will def make a big name for himself. Kid has alot of heart and the skills.

I like the kid, and I do believe he'll make a roster somewhere, but I honestly don't care if it's here. We have about 45 sure things on this team, including 3 HBs and Richardson. Do people really think Woodhead would have a huge impact here? How many teams can you name the 4th RB for? Hell, the Giants run a RBBC and they gave Danny Ware a whopping 2 carries last season. If Woodhead sits on our bench, he makes no impact outside of injury, which I sure as hell wouldn't root for, and he takes the roster spot of someone who can actually see the field and make an impact for a few plays a game. I'm guessing he goes off to find his opportunity somewhere else. Again, seems like a good story and I wish him well, but I'm not going to be upset if he gets cut.

Considering that there are inactive players each week, someone has to sit. Might as well be this guy.

He's a nice little player and the love is understandable, but he's not a unique talent, isn't an upgrade anywhere, and doesn't fill a necessary role. It's cool to root for the scrappy underdog, but I seriously doubt that we'd have these long threads about him if he were black.

My favorite part of this thread is the guys who deny Gholston's performance last night because it was against 2s, but adore Woodhead who did what he did against guys who will be bagging my groceries on Sunday.

I don't want him on the Jets. He's a feel-good story for sure, but there are better players we'd have to sacrifice for him. No thanks.

i kind of agree, i mean of our young WR's who has stood out beyond the obvious 5?

    Locks
    Cotchery
    Stuckey
    Clowney

    Likely to be there
    Wright
    Smith

who else impressed? Allison maybe? I would rather keep the skill player who has impressed in woodhead, and he can be our 6th receiver #2 return guy and 4th rb. so he does have some value as depth because heavens knows we won't go 100% healthy at the top 2 offensive skill positions all year...

Plus he can contribute on the return game... and if he gets hurt there who cares... I mean, not who cares but it's better then getting our best RB (leon) or starting safety (Leonhard) hurt...

Now he is competing for the roster spot with Allison... and his biggest asset is the return game as well... we'll see tomorrw!

    feel good story: yes
    make the team: no
    Practice Squad: maybe

don't need 4RB's on team. He's fun to watch if he hits the hole untouched. If someone sticks an arm out, he goes down. No ill will toward the lil' fella, but we'll need greater depth elsewhere.

Yeah, I agree. Great story but we need the roster room for other positions.

For me he does not fit other needs. A forth RB is usally only kept if he is a great special teamer. We have other guys that are as good or better on ST. I like the kid - he is a great story and deserves his chops but I think he will be on someones practice squad.

Every time you post, you make yourself look like even more a joke.

Calling Hartsock "camp fodder" is hilarious.

    ...you obviously "cannot read"

Dumb question. Has he caught any passes out of the backfield or returned any kicks? The only way you keep him if he has some versatility that we can use. Otherwise, nice story, but no smurfs.

I think I have to agree with this. He made a strong case last night but do we really want to sacrifice depth at another position so Woodhead can be our 4th HB? He'd probably never even see the field.

Hopefully he can get picked up and get some PT with someone.

He returned a KO 31 yards last night and had a 10 yard reception. Oh, and speaking of Smurfs. Jones-Drew is smaller than Woodhead is.

I'm very interested to see what happens with Woodhead. I'd be suprised if they chose to go with only one fullback. Shonne Green can't block so he is not a solution at FB. There is also a special teams impact. Linebackers and Fullbacks play big roles on special teams since they are big bodies that can run. With Leon returning kicks and Leonard returning punts there is no special teams role for Woodhead. My guess is that they cut him outright and let him try to hook up with another team. We'll find out at 4pm tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure Fargas is a SoCal latino like Sanchez.

Practice Squad, no, because another team is going to sign him. This is a Rex-type player, and I hope they keep him. We need a Wayne Chrebet on this team, and that's Danny Woodhead!

The guy deserves a shot on somebody's roster. Too bad ours is full at the RB position and it won't be ours.
