I'm all for the Woodhead story, and I think he's played his way onto an NFL roster somewhere, but do we really need to carry 4 RBs?
I was watching Hard Knocks on HBO and saw Marlon Lucky get cut. Wasn't he the 5 star recruit that prevented Woodhead from getting a shot at Nebraska? Not sure what the story is there. I think this kid has something in him to just prove people wrong and if he doesn't do it with us I'm afraid he will somewhere else.
i rather carry 2 full backs then 1 full back and 4 running backs.. woodhead will not make it against 1st stringers
Actually Fargas isn't white, his dad is this guy (Huggy Bear from Starsky & Hutch.) As for Woodhead I'd like to see him make the team, but how many runningbacks do we really need? How is this supposed to be a pound the rock running team with only one fullback?
I'll bet if we don't sign him to the 53 man roster, he'll get picked up by some other team before we can add him to our practice squad. He's too quick and versatile.. He has to make the team.
Here's to Danny the Midget. I got so excited over his first TD. He looked like a Pee Wee football player next to everyone else. Or a bobble head. Both. I wonder if he really is twelve years old? It's a great story no matter how it turns out.
And what TE on our roster can fill the FB position if Tony goes down? We don't even have a TE that can block, unless the camp fodder we just signed can show something
Heh, re-watching the game from home now, and Greg Buttle goes, "He may look like he's twelve years old..." So, purely incidental. The game thread is obviously closed, but I did want to say that part of the reason I went tonight was to boo the piss out of Michael Vick. I'm glad he'll be waking up sore tomorrow, because he got beat up pretty good. The only people who were cheering were Eagles fans - at least in my section. He got booed consistently all game long, but there were A LOT of Eagles fan in attendance, so not the best litmus test or a true indicator. This Eagles retard yells out, "You're the man!" So I yelled out, "You're the dog killa!" He shut up after that. Made me fit to puke how the TV crew followed him all the way off the field right after the game like he was some persecuted home town hero or that he just beat cancer or something. It's a disgrace this POS is on a football field in the first place. I hope somebody knocks his teeth out. And soon.
Judging by his stats alone I'd say he played himself onto this team in this game. Imagine him coming off of the bench, fresh, against a worn down defense. The three headed monster just might prove to grow another.
After tonight there is ZERO chance he would clear waivers to make it to the practice squad. I really think that Danny almost is REQUIRED to make the team. Ryan has been going on and on that someone needed to step up to make the team. And he did. And it matters to Ryan A LOT to live up to his word. Yes it was against scrubs, but he was pretty dominant against scrubs which is what you want to see. I also think Murrell played his way on the team tonight, and possibly Trusnick.
I want to see him on the team...Greene can play FB if needed. I recall the hype with Chrebet in 96(?), long before this board, and that turned out pretty well. There was a reason we called him up right away after the 2008 draft...
That's pretty much what I meant; I don't think he'll pass waivers but that's where he's headed. I'd be happy if we kept him on the roster.. but 6 RBs? Maybe we can trade TJ for Marshall and give Woodhead a spot. Problem solved and problem solved.
