This is true.. If this team makes a quantum leap in talent and operationally, that's different. I don't think that will happen.
Let's set the over/under at 4.5. I'll take the over and you can take the under. I'll bet you $100. I can send the $100 to @Brook! as an escrow agent. What do you say?
Other teams won't stand still, but one will definitely lose a HoF starting QB, others may do also. Players will retire or leave. Other teams are up against the cap and won't be able to be so active in FA. They don't have 4 picks in the top 40 or 50 or even 100. They don't have anywhere near so many players who could make a significant improvement in their sophomore year either. And yes, there might be a lot less injuries to contend with. There's a lot of reasons to think the Jets will be significantly more competitive next season (and a lot still has to happen to make that actually happen) and very few of those opponents have the opportunity to do anywhere near as much to improve with some likely to make a fair step back.
Just so you know. If you and my boss Cman send me $100 each, I will bet all $200 on Superbowl on a bet you guys align and double your money and pay it to the over under 4.5 winner after the last game of 2022 season.
Boss. I firmly believe Jets will win more than 6. My over under is 6.5 and even than I will bet the over. HC, OC and DC won't be rookies anymore. They all should learn from their mistakes right? Zach will have a full year of experience under his belt. He is known to watch tape and correct his mistakes. He showed improvement signals after his injury. After watching tape for a full season work with his personal trainer on short distance throws, he should be much better than last year. Add in 4 picks in Top 38. Add in $50+ million to spend. And imagine the pressure on both Woody and Joe D to be competitive. I don't see another Top 5 pick in our future next year. All that said, don't take the bet with @bicketybam as he is looking to fleece you.
hahah ok heres the deal. 1) this isnt that big of a deal to go back n forth on. 2) I will gladly make some sort of a friendly wager with you that the Jets win more than 4 games next year 3) Youre still missing the point. The Jets might win 1 game next year but that means they suck. It doesnt mean teh schedule was brutal.
Bengals and the titans lost to the Jets this season. What loser teams. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
You wrote that the Jets won't win more than 4 games....book it. What's going to happen in training camp that will change your mind? Just curious.
You went from 3 wins to 4 wins to 'let's wait until training camp." It sounds like you aren't very convinced that the Jets will win a max of 4 games
Well, if that does happen, then Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh will have to be relieved of their duties, and it would mean Zach Wilson is not a very good QB. Remember, they won 4 games, but that included close losses to the Panthers, Buccaneers, Falcons, Dolphins twice, and even the final Bills game was close in the 4th Quarter. When you factor in all the talent they will be adding, some of those losses will turn into wins in 2022. The NFL is close. The best team and the worst team is not that far apart. That is why the Jets losing so much in recent years has been so unacceptable to me. The league is designed for that not to happen, and yet the Jets have continued to find a way since 2016. I think that changes in 2022.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. The Jets may stumble upon a star rookie or rookies that can make a difference. They may even luck into an edge rusher or a true RG/RT. Perhaps ZW will learn to throw the damn ball away when the play is dead. We'll know what this team looks like after the Draft and TC. I don't hold out a lot of hope for more than 4 wins, but you never know. For the first time in their entire history, the Jets might get.... Lucky. (not holding my breath)
I always love these "brutal schedule" comments. Seems to me the Jets schedule in 2022 includes other NFL teams. Nothing brutal about that. What I consider brutal is short weeks with long travel. If they played three games in one week, I'd agree THAT was a brutal schedule. Three games in London vs. KC might qualify too. So, bet money with the guys who are scared of the so called brutal schedule and point to it as to why we'll be bad again next year.
I almost forgot that this guy used to be a scout for the Jets. He has an odd backstory. It's a crazy read. OCD for the win, and I admire his tenacity. Now he's a Jesus Freak. Oh, and Woody the Cheapskate only paid him 21K. https://www.si.com/nfl/jets/news/ny-jets-daniel-kelly-nfl-scout-cancer-against-the-odds
This is one for the ages. Daniel Kelly related, it almost reads as satire. https://www.christianpost.com/news/...-rededicated-life-to-christ-hours-before.html
