Patented Jets clunker vs Miami is coming in hot, until this team shows me consistency I will expect nothing less than the norm.
I'm in a very weird place with this franchise right now. I don't know if me thinking we have finally turned the corner and are primed for years of success and playoff runs is right or not. Sam Darnold seems to be the real deal. He has the personality for this city, he has the talent, he has the brains, and this front office has put people around him everywhere to help him succeed, mainly Josh McCown. But even with all of that, a part of me, deep down, is scared to think this way. We have seen talent and hope from other young guys faceplant into a giant ass cheek. This time feels different though. This kid feels right. Everything about him just feels right. Maybe this is the feeling we are supposed to have. Maybe this is us finally turning that corner and we just don't know how to react or are scared to overreact. I trust this kid completely, and maybe logic tells me to think week by week, but my heart is telling me otherwise. I think we have hit gold. I think we have finally found a franchise QB who will lead us to many many years of success.
I want to feel good about Sunday's game but it's the Fins and they've _____ed us so many times. I need a few more gamedays like yesterday.
I'd say my most optimistic record at this point would be another 5-11 season short of them miraculously putting it together and becoming a competent team.
Someone will be 7 and 3 it just won't be our Jets. Also all 53 NY Jets and the entire coaching staff will be at the Super Bowl assuming they buy tickets .
Still alive If we had a legit HC we could easily do it Think about how amazing a guy like Jay Payton could be or Sean Mcvay!! Lord knows - the coaching and scheming matter From this point onward.....,.. Do not ever appoint a defensive coach as HC
To be fair, we probably should be 3-2 right now. And the next 5 games don't scare me. I dont think we're going 5-0, but I can see 3-2.
We could be 3-3 next week as the Colts aren’t the hardest opponent and I think we matchup well with them. That doesn’t mean the team can look past them, but getting back to .500 should be the teams entire focus right now.
Optimists emerging from shadow into light, pessimists descending into the murky depths from whence they came. Until next week...on TGG!
Anything can happen. I like the developments from last week though. Darnold through two perfect long ball passes.
