We paid Rodgers 2.2 million per touch. Wonder how high it will be next year when he earns twice as much?
Another brilliant signing by our brilliant GM. I think I had a more productive season than either of them just sitting on my couch.
I get the thought that Dalvin was brought in to let Breece ramp up after injury... but with our 0-line they could have given any of the backs on the roster those snaps and the result would have been the same. Oh well... it ain't my money.
I wonder if Joe Douglas learned how to waste FA money in Baltimore under Ozzie Newsome or while he was in the Philly FO...?
I'm willing to bet that the only reason they released him was because he had opportunities. What's the point of releasing him with one game left in the regular season if he didn't? So, no bet.
I really think they think that releasing Cook now while they are the dumpster fire to end all dumpster fires is a Good Guy move that will buy them interest in any player worth a shit once FA opens. This is kind of a bitch move
That could be, but then they'd be as dumb or dumber than we think they are. If they REALLY wanted to be good guys, they'd have released him weeks ago where he could've caught on somewhere and assimilatred himself to the system. I think his agent probably facilitated this and they pulled a Michael Carter type of maneuver. We'll see which of us esteemed gentlemen is correct depending on how quickly he lands somewhere. My bet is on Monday the latest.
Of course, what they don't realize is that free agents are going to view their usage of Cook, as well as their use (or lack thereof) of guys like Mecole Hardman, and stay away from the Jets if they have any other options. This regime truly is clueless. I wouldn't trust them to get my order at McDonald's correct, let alone put together a decent football team.
I love it when fans shit all over JD for pissing away big money on Cook who did nothing, and now freak out because he might go to a division rival. My first response is who gives a shit, but upon further reflection, if Cook lights it up else where, is not at at all a reflection on JD, but on our incompetent coaching staff. And it would not be the first time by far.
I'd argue it's worse they finally released him midway through the final week of the season when absolutely nothing matters.
