    Exactly, the MEDIA thought him going to 16th was a reach, not the professional scouts.

    I've got to go with Cutler; I've already read on this board that Rivers is;

    1) Suckfilled
    2) A bust
    3) Ryan Leaf
    4) No worth anything more than the 641st overall
    5) Slow
    6) Fat
    7) No arm
    8) His mom dresses him funny
    9) Dumb

    Based on this - I dont see why any team would want him.

    Yes, I think Cutler has all the tools to be a great QB, I'm not so sure about Rivers. The cost of Rivers is the appealing part but I don't want this decision to be based on the money. This question is pretty meaningless anyway cause I don't see SD trading away there starting QB.

    Rivers because we wont waste a strech pick. I don't know why Cutler is considered a 1st rounder.

    Because people way more qualified than anyone on this board think so?

    i would take Jay Cutler as Rivers can be had only thru trade and we can draft Cutler.

    Rivers definitely. Cutler is High Risk-High Reward. Rivers is Low Risk-High Reward. Economics play a huge part in this decision. PRPitbull put it best in another thread. "if it doesn't work out, at least it won't set us back 4 years"

    You also have to factor in Rivers familiarity with our OC. If our OC wants him, you have to respect that.

    That's almost my exact response, i still want reggie Bush, and if he's not around, than i gotta say take Vince Young as i'm hearing more and more that he may be in our laps at #4 if young is on the board you have to think really hard about Trading down as you know some one will want to make that mortgage to get him.

    Yeah this is definitely pipe dreaming. No way the Chargers give up Rivers. I will dream ignorantly as it helps me to avoid the fact that we might indeed REACH for Cutler. I never liked gambling and I never will. Leave Cutler to a team that can afford to lose 4 years if he doesn't work out.
