Can Olson or Croyle be a franchise QB? I'm not sold on that idea.

Actually we don't know that, we have absolutely no idea what Schottheimer will be thinking, although to me our offense would be best suited for the WCO with 3 possession receivers. With that in mind I want no part of Cutler, I just have the feeling that if we get him he will be a guy with high TDs/high INTs in this offense, and that is if he finds his groove in this offense, Rivers would cost less and is much more accurate.

I actually wasn't gearing that for a QB in particular, but in our offense strength because of our 3 possession WRs who seem to be the only sure things on our offense right now, it would be like the Moss situation if we force our offense into something that they don't excel at.

Rivers... because he'd be a great fit for the Jets. He lit it up in college with Cotchery as his go to guy, he's been learning under Brian Schottenheimer during his entire NFL stay, and the fact is he's been in the NFL for a few years and now wants to get onto the field and start lighting it up. Cutler is still a rookie, and while he will be phenominal, I don't know if he is going to be better than Rivers. It's a crapshoot as far as that goes.

I think Croyle can. Doesnt make mistakes. accurate. My mock draft would go D'brickashaw ferguson in the first round and the second round I would Brody Croyle.

croyle still needs to show he can stay injury free. his durability is a big question. we of all teams need to stay away from medical concerns especially at qb IMO

I say we go DBrick in first round and then Mangold in the second round. And for Cutler or Rivers. Niether. If Forced i guess Rivers but not jay cutler.

Phillip Rivers, so we keep our 4th overall pick.

It's hard to say, I like both of them. All things considered, Rivers is probably the better option... but something about Cutler makes me think he can be one of the best. I think Rivers has the potential to be one of the best, too, but I don't know if his throwing motion will handicap him.

You're taking crazy pills as well. If the Jets don't keep Pennington they should draft the best QB prospect possible at the #4 slot. Not wait until a later round.

So if none of the 3 QB prospects are there you would take Croyle, or Jacobs with the 4th spot? Because sometimes on this board I think that some people would.

although he hasn't taken many NFL snaps, at least Rivers has been practicing and learning the NFL game, Cutler is gonna be raw for at least 2 seasons

Rivers simply because the Jets would be better faster.
    • The Jets new OC has helped develop Rivers for the past two years, and Rivers feels comfortable and thinks very highly of Schotty.
    • Although he hasn't had much game experience, he has had two years in the NFL to study (like Chad did behind Vinny)
    • Rivers won a lot more than Cutler in college. For example, Rivers started 5 Bowl games and was named the MVP of each one!
    • Signing Rivers would allow the Jets to use their #4 pick on D'Brick or another elite player.

    good choice

I'd take Rivers. He's was actually true high 1st round talent. Cutler got there by the most amazing media boost i've ever seen. Before the Rose Bowl him going 16th to the Fins was a reach.

I wonder...IF Rivers WAS on the trade block (hypothetical situation), would the Chargers accept a 2nd rounder as adequate value?
