There are 31 other teams that ALSO didnt get cultler; Odds are at least 11 of them will make the playoffs this year. OK, everyone vent... Than let's move on. Didn't get him. Not the end of the world.
the bears gave up 2009 and 2010 first round draft picks, 2009 third round, and kyle orton. WE DIDNT BLOW ANYTHIN... WE LET THIS ONE GO.. AND RIGHTFULLY SO...
Its not so bad Matt. Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make. At the very least, Cutler won't be around to torch our ass anymore..
That's fine, but it happened to be the Broncos' approach. Whether you would take the same approach is irrelevant.
Nothing b/c the Defense was HORRIBLE. Give them a decent D and they would have made the playoffs each year. You have to be kidding me! Oh thats right we have Brett Ratliff we dont need a QB.
Wow you think Tanny got gun shy there? I think it just cost too much. Maybe he trades up for a QB and shocks the world.
Nobody can seriously believe that Clemens or Ratliff will be the Jets QB in '09 unless they are convinced the Jets didn't even try to get Cutler.
...if we draft one QB in the 1st 3 rds for the next 2 yrs, plus what we already got, we still may not get a player of Cutler's caliber....
I'm really surprised how little respect O'Brien gets from some Jets fans. At this point Ratliff is the plan B. lol..
Thats great but they beat what at the time was a terrible Indy team in week one and terrible Philly team in week 4... adding to my argument that what did he Orton light it up against... the Colts a Eagles were bad, and I mean bad the first 4 or 5 games of the season... anything else you want top try and spin? You should question your own genes pal. Clemens, if your dealing in "potentials" has as much "potential" as Kyle Orton, who I don't care how you want to spin this either, is not a very good STARTING QB... he's about what you'd expect from a Back-up to be perfectly honest.
why not?? who do you see being our QB... AINGE!?!.. another veteran whose original team dropped and to be used as a quick fix...
Yeah, he has 3 years left but Chicago would be crazy to give up 2 #1s, a 3, a 5 and Orton for a 3 year rental.
I'm thinking Tanns and/or Woody didn't have the hardon for Cutler that he did for Farve. Cutler's asking price, while appearing to be high, isn't really that high for a Pro Bowl QB that's only 25. Imagine if Farve was traded these days to GB from Atlanta. What would that cost have been? Can you imagine the asking price for Elway, Marino or Kelly in their prime? I really don't think that Tanny, seeing how things turned out with Farve, would be willing to mortgage the team's near term development on a single player. Seling 2 years worth of DP's and throwing in our best up and coming LB to buy a QB that has thin skin would be akin to going all in holding 2 dueces while looking at a pair of aces.. BTW, how the hell are ya oldtimer?
No, I see them still trying to trade for somebody or drafting a QB. They tried to get Favre back, they tried to trade for Cutler..it's pretty obvious they want something other than what they currently have.
