I think you're overstating quite a bit here. Sure he had good games, he's obviously a gifted athlete. But saying that going under .500 for Vandy equates to an undefeated or 1 loss season somewhere else is ridiculous. The guy has 3 or 4 good games, and people stand up and say "look, this guy at a crappy school had a good game!" and ignore the other 6 or 7 where he played poorly, and chalk it up to Vanderbilt being Vanderbilt.

The fact that he's already excusing himself his failures in the past is also not a good sign, of either character or leadership. This is the kind of stuff you'd expect to hear from an agent trying to get his client a few more bucks, not the player himself..

Also, following Skip Bayless' advice and predictions you might as well be a lamb being led to slaughter.

Whats he gonna say......"Well our record stinks because we just didnt play well, I didnt make the plays I should have...yadda yadda yadda"

No he has to play himself up and he cant do that without saying something like he said.

Why did he choose Vanderbilt? Was he not highly recruited or what?

Can all the guys saying he didn't do anything in college please go look at his numbers this past year. His last 3 losses were 35-28, 49-42 & 48-43. You can't ask much more from a QB than putting up 40 points.

Precisely. He has the makings of a true leader, IMO. Why? He's normal.........that's tough to find in today's world.

you obviously never went to college... its not like he's out running a drug train or a whorehouse here. And he is right, he was the only all-star on the damn team, he has every right to "throw them under the bus" as you say.

Let the record show, I normally don't follow Bayless.

Cutler had more than 3 or 4 good games for Vandy in 2005.

So, going 5-6 at Vandy is the same as if Matt Leinart going 5-6 at USC?

And Gino Torretta and Ken Dorsey had sizzling college W-L records.

We both know that's not the case. Just because I didn't subscribe to your ridiculous assertation doesn't mean that I automatically believe the opposite. Vandy started out the year 4-0 playing a bunch of stiffs(4-7 Wake, 4-7 Arkansas, 3-8 Miss and an A-10 team) then dropped an inexcusable game to Mid Tenn St at home. For all the talk about his win over Tennessee people seem to forget that they were under .500 last year as well.

Please explain how in the world Cutler reminds you of Ryan Leaf?? I'm dying to hear someone explain these baseless comparisons.

Would have been 6-5 if not for the worst call of the college season at the end of the Florida game.

It's no more baseless then these "the next Brett Favre" comments. I wish the board could have some kind of agreement to stop these ridiculous superficial declarations of similar players.
