Actually what scares me about Cutler the most was that he went from a late first/early second to a top 10 pick, before the Senior bowl but after the season, he was inconsistant in the Senior Bowl, like he had been in Vanderbilt.
He's not going to be there at #9. He might not even be there for us at #4. I could see him easily going at #2. My greatest fear is that Bush-Cutler-Young are all off the board by the time we pick. I really don't care about the Young vs. Cutler debate as long as we get one of them, since I'm almost certain both won't be on the board when we pick, and there's a chance neither is there. Forget about trading down, worry about us getting the right guy in the first place. Enough on this BPA, it's all subjective anyway. If Cutler turns out to be a good player (which I firmly believe he will be) no one is going to care in 3 years where he was picked. Remember, Vilma was considered a "reach" too.
He was a late first/early second in the mind of some "draft guru's", but NFL scouts and Jabba have had him projected in the early 1st for a while now.
Now you are just twisting it to a pro-cutler statement, I could say the same thing for my point of view  He hasn't showed me anything but arm strength and release to be capable of being worthy of a top 5 pick
Huh? You said that he was a late first/early second rounder before the Senior Bowl, and I was just telling you that the NFL scouts disagreed. There's been a huge buzz about Cutler in the early-mid first LONG before the Senior Bowl. I like Cutler, but I wasn't twisting anything. The people like Kiper, and other supposed draftnik's (other than Jabba) were the ones who thought he was a late first/early second round talent. The people who actually have input in the whole thing, the professional scouts, thought he was early/mid first round material.
you have no idea if all or even most NFL scouts agree with you, or do you have access to the teams insider info, but anyway this is useless talk until the combine is over
Every single person associated with the NFL that I saw talk about Cutler had countless great things to say about him. These people knew his talent and status in the draft before guys like Kiper and other draft gurus.
i did not say he cant throw on the run, i said he isnt as good at it, which is true. Brooks has to do it against NFL DE's which are much faster and more athletic than in college and that is a fact Maybe the saints are getting rid of brooks due to underachieveing, or maybe its because Matt Leinart is one of the best college prospects in years. Hmmm, i wonder.
i dont tihnk the jets should take a qb in the first round unless it is Matt Leinart or Vince Young. the jets have been blessed with many FA QBs this year. I for one am very happy Cutlers stock has shot up, not because i want him because i dont (if you cant tell already) but i think teams that have later pciks and need a young qb would love to trade up. SCENARIO 1: trading down if we can get the right price. Draft DeAngelo Williams maybe and hope we can get some 2nd round steals SCENARIO 2: we draft Cutler at 4, sit him and start Vinny or some other vet. We got 1-11 then put in Cutler and prepare for next season SCENARIO 3: we draft DBrick, sign a FA qb or use vinny and have a losing season. Trade up next year (if we need to) and draft Brady Quinn SCENARIO 4: Trade Abraham and our 4th overall to the texans for 1 overall and take Bush/Leinart (unlikely scenario) SCENARIO 5: sign Aaron Brooks and draft DBrick. Sign a FA running back. Prob not able to afford Jamal Lewis/Ahman Green/Edge but someone like Najeh Davenport to split the load with curtis (my personal Favorite)
if scenerio 2 plays out. Adrian Peterson will be our franchise rb . cutler and peterson wwould be nice way to build the offense around. only in my dreams
Brodie Croyle in the 2nd round... I think he'll end up being the 2nd best Qb taken in this draft after Young...
jets are not gonna draft a qb with a medical flag. im telling yall that now. the willl be the joke of the league. there aready taking heat for the young guys in the front office
I wouldn't mind Croyle in the 2nd round as well, but I doubt he'd end up being better than Leinart, Young, or Cutler.
I have to agree with you on this one. Honestly if the Falcons would deal Schaub for a #2, I do it in an instant.
Jabba has had Cutler rated much higher than many of these draft "gurus" for months. I thought he would have been the steal of the century with our second round pick.... not because I had him rated that low, he was under the radar at the time. In Jeff Fisher's own words, he said that many NFL teams had not even evaluated him before the senior bowl practice week. Now that they have.... guess what? His stock went from late first to early first..... and like Jabba, I think in the long run, he will be better than either Leinart or Young in the NFL. Watch though..... the Titans will take him at 3.
