I used to like the guy, but that was before he started opening his mouth. Now he's more annoying than anything.
...What is the big deal? What big gun-slinging QB isn't cocky and didn't say/do dumb things when they were young?
He probably does have a stronger arm than Favre at this point. No way he has a stronger arm than Elway when Elway was in his prime.
You need to be somewhat arrogant to play QB in the NFL. But it's not like he's saying he's a better QB than Favre.
Yeah, but if he was playing for the Jets no one would be complaining about his big mouth. It's the normal trade for some young players in the NFL. We just have to beat him next weekend to make him shut up as we have done many times this season.
I was one that wanted Cutler as well. He has a bit of fighter pilot in him and that will make him successful. Just because he speaks his mind and has a large ego doesn't make him a bad guy. Has anyone ever heard of a timid, meek QB being successful in the NFL? If so, please let me know who...
He sounds like he was given too much positive feedback as a kid and now he's a typical d-bag. We need to sack him like 14 times.
LOL, I was thinking the same thing. IMO, this was total Tounge in Cheeck. Get a grip guys. Cutler may be a little full of himself but Favre isn't made of glass and he isn't the 2nd coming of...insert a god desciple here.....
Everyone needs to relax. I have no doubt Favre would've been saying the same thing when he was 24. You have to have confidence in the NFL to survive playing QB and I'd rather mine act like Cutler then one who sulks and has a blank stare during the game.
He's a tool, but he's probably trying to stir the pot a bit and get in Favre's head. Hopefully Favre sticks to the game plan and doesn't turn into a bombs away gunslinger in this game to prove a point. Unless he has to off course.
Strong arm - yes. Great attitude? Don't know, he's cocky, like a WR. Not sure I like that. Stronger then Favre at age 39? Sure, that is most likely true: But I want him to prove it. Last year, one of Favre's fast balls was clocked, then compared to one of his from his prime, and they both, measured out to terms we better understand, would be equivelent of 95mph fast balls in baseball. I mean, Maybe Cutler's is stronger more consistently, becayse of his youth, but like that play to Coles - You just don't underestimate the arm strength of Brett Favre, no matter how old he is.
Actually I love it when they speak, watch and see it just calls Favre out to their regret. Last year somebody put a radar gun on Favre and clocked a pair of slant bullets at 67 & 68 mph and Driver and Jennings each caught one. 10-12 years ago he was once clocked at 72 mph. In perspective an average High School baseball pitcher--average mind you, throws in the low 70s and Favre was that fast in pads with a football. Speed isn't everything though.
