Cutler does not seem to care about winning football games. That is why I would not want him. He has the talent though.

Wasn't there already a report that said the Jets had no interest in Cutler?

I get the criticism of Cutler.

But it is fun to watch him throw the football.

If the Bears GM gave us Cutler and took Geno off our hands Id blow him

Jay Cutler's contract calls for him to get $15.5m this year, and $16m next year. I believe it's fully guaranteed - so any team that traded for him would be making a 2 year commitment, at a pretty high financial cost. He's just not good enough to justify that salary, so the Bears are pretty much stuck with him until 2017.

As if Smith has a good attitude. Really.

Chicago wanted to work with him last off season, so that is a gross overstatement on your part.

As for accomplishing nothing, that is a gross overstatement as well. Bottom line is he is about 15 as an NFL Qb when SMith is upper 30's, and you prefer a team meeting missing 3 interceptions in 3 series "accomplishing" worse than mediocre loser.

The locker room stuff is way overrated. Most of his problems stem from having coaches who failed and are either out of the league, working at lesser jobs than they had with him, or are perennial mediocrities like Lovie Smith.

The fans here who are willing to accept mediocre players just because they have worn the laundry for a season or two never cease to astound me.

I would not take Cutler at his present salary, either. But a deal should be engineered where Chicago pays down some of it. At the right number, and considering the absence of alternatives, I would take him for sure.

As if I'd ever waste my money on a Geno jersey. Get over yourself.

That is supposed to be a contributon to the discussion?

Not a good start to your day here. You want to try again?

Smith sucks. Anyone would be an improvement. And his attitude blows. Yet you prefer Smith to Cutler.

I never said you bought his jersey. I said you seem to have loyalty to a grossly mediocre player.

Worst part about being blocked by Big Blocker is not being able to respond in a way that you KNOW will make him respond looking stupid. You guys don't need me to do that. This conversation has been painful.

I'm preaching to the choir, because the one guy who truly believes this garbage has me blocked but in no way are Geno and Cutler's "attitudes" comparable. Cutler has had coaches come out against him, star receivers come out against him and as a 8 year vet making $17 mil, has gotten BENCHED because of his shit play and poor attitude. Meanwhile, Geno has been in the league two years and you hear nothing but support from his teammates thus far.

Cutler is the one who is grossly mediocre.. Geno Smith hasn't even reached that level yet. So it makes more sense to say you have loyalty to a grossly mediocre player.

And attitude? of all the things to knock Smith for (and there is lots) his attitude is far, far from the problem. Where as Cutler legitimately has a problem and doesn't care if his team wins or loses.

Its a moot point though because the Jets aren't trading for him and that disgusting contract, they'd be doing Chicago a favor. Besides they just got Marshall and those 2 aren't the best of friends, would make no sense to pair them up here

I'd be curious to know who people WANT to be our QB next year...no one on the roster is the answer, the FA list is very bleak, we're almost definitely not getting Winston or Mariota unless we trade up which we shouldn't do and I couldn't even tell you one other prospect after they get taken. So unless we find a Russell Wilson later in the draft, what's the answer? It could be worse than Jay Cutler
