I had to read this thread just to make sure it was a joke. NO WAY IS BROOKS THE ANSWER. He couldn't even keep his starting job with the Saints.
Guys, calm down. He makes his point. It's not rare that a player with a down career leave and be reborn on another team. What gets many players goiing is a change on location. That could or could not be the case for Brooks. With teh right moves, draft, and signings- I could see him as well as anyone else QBing the jets next year.
Aaron Brooks is the type of QB that you need to design an offense around, and his decision-making is so flawed that I can't see how any team would want to do that.
I work with a die-hard NO native Saints fan. He and his relatives hate Brooks with a passion usually reserved for pedophiles and GW Bush. Hey, sign him. That way, we could have somebody to take Herm's place as our whipping post for a few games before he gets yanked.
positive points you make - Brooks is a scrambler negative points you make - cut penny? lol no, sign brooks with his guarenteed 20+ INT's? lol no, sign brooks AND draft a QB? ..lol no
Horn's pretty good, sucks he had a bad QB to play with....and Deuce may have been out all year, but do you honestly think if brooks comes here that we'll have soem awesome running game?...exactly
Aaron Brooks would be a decent signing to get us through this next season having a warm body at QB, but nothing more. He is one of the worst leaders in the NFL, and is a terrible decision maker. In fact, he flat out sucks. However, it may be necessary to sign him. I hope not, because having him as the starter is the kiss of death to next season.
Im saying Brooks played most of the year without a decent starting reciever or running back.Brooks may be the best optioon available as we speak.

you do make a very good point here i must admit... but i think his time is past, and if the jets wanna bring him in for a tryout, then i would approve surely, but sign him to be our starter for a couple of games? (that chad sits out hurt)>>>>>>nnnoo probably not...UNLESS he's really impressive in his tryout with us oh, and 1 more thing...the last 3 years his stats have gotten WORSE..and WORSE
We could put a bag of shit at QB. That would be cheaper and provide nearly the same production that Aaron Brooks would.
why do people not like aaron brooks? i dont get it, i actually think hes a good qb his numbers were good when he had a decent o line by signing him we could draft dbrick and our oline would be solid
On that note i have realized most Jets fans like life in quagmire.Maybe its the 50% off merchandise sales in mid December? Maybe its the losing persona and the attitude "we cant win"? I trully dont know? Im just very aggravated on the knocks Aaron Brooks is recieving HE WOULD BE THE BEST QB ON THE JETS.pending we dont draft Young-Leinart-Cutler.END OF DISCUSSION
agreed. Since we're in rebuilding mode anyway, I'd rather go with Bollinger for another year than spend any money on Aaron Brooks
