Honesty, I was a fan of this guy for two seconds. I think any player can come to this team and I'd be at least somewhat optimistic about that player, at least initially. He had what? 1 or 2 great games in KC and with that amazing offensive that any runningback could flourish in. (IMO way better than the Broncos o-line) The guys built like a reciever with a couple extra pounds. He's injury prone due to his small size (missed mini-camp for what reason?) He's not a change of pace back. Both Martin and Blaylock are the elusive/speedy back type. Why then would there be a need to put blaylock in other than injuries? I really hope its martin then washington then houston on the depth chart. Also for the sake of this topic could someone post a scouting report on Blaylock?
Agreed. It's open competition and let the best man win. Personally, I feel that Washington is exactly like Blaylock but with more upside. I don't see Blaylock on this team in the long run.
I'll summarize- It will cost more to cut Blaylock than to keep him. The team isn't moving him this year.
I miss the change of pace Lamont Jordan brought. I know... I know... we couldn't keep him.... Still, the guy was a terror in certain situations.
I don't think that he's had the opportunity to prove it, one way or the other. Let's give this guy some meaningful playing time in a RB platoon this year and see what he can do. I can tell you though that I am much more anxious to see what Houston and our newly drafted RB will bring to the field.
We don't even know yet. He was injured for the better part of 2005. Lets give him a year to prove himself behind Curtis Martin and see what he does.
we have enough cap room to carry him this yr. basically from a franchise standpoint theyre playing curtis but counting him out. weve got 3 other RB's, and 1 is a rookie so he'll be on the roster for at least 3 yrs (including this one) training camp should be huge for our team, mangini is going to decide which players he wants to stay and so on. its pretty basic, i was for cutting blaylock since Washington is blaylock with more upside. but you never know, Blaylock had a rough break last yr. and i believe blaylock will be the odd man out, but I at least understand why we have 4 rb's right now. lets just let training camp unfold
I agree with the cut. It would just be a waste to have of money anyway now that we have Houston to back up Martin. Too bad Little John Flowers isn't available anymore.
I think we carry 4 rbs this year. We need to figure out what blaylock, houston and washington have. Its possiable all 3 of them could be our rb's next year. This year is a try out
I dunno about that. I think Houston could have a chance but right now I'm liking the idea of drafting a #1RB somewhere down the line......
