Agree, it was stupid to low ball Elllis like that. I hope we can draft OLBs and a Right Tackle on offense next year.

I love Ellis, and I would have loved it if he came along for the ride in the event we won the championship, but sometimes you have to put the development of your roster ahead of appeasing veterans. For the Jets to be good long term, they've got to get reps for the younger guys.

The Jets paid Ellis many millions of dollars when he produced at a high level and when he didn't. They didn't owe him anything.

This is Thomas' last year under contract, and will be Pace's next-to-last year, I believe. Westermann needs to see a lot of playing time for the Jets to see if he can get the job done or not. If not, I think they may need to look at taking two OLBs if they can. They could re-sign Thomas for a year or two as a backup, but I think they definitely need to upgrade his position and get someone to push Pace and be ready to replace him in 2013.

Plax could be re-signed or could have an injury-filled and basically unproductive year. I think Kerley will develop. Payne will be a solid STs contributor, but I don't see him as ever being anything more than a #4 or #5 WR. Gilyard has talent, but I'm not sure he has the smarts to make it in the NFL.

There are a couple of WRs I'd love to see on the Jets, but with the importance of the OLB position in the pass rush and the Jets lack of speed and production from that position, I think the OLB position has to take preference unless Westermann or Garrett come out of nowhere. Rex is also supposedly very high on the Berning kid, and maybe he'll develop. With Harris, one ILB spot is set. I'd like to see them get Scott to take a big pay cut, but know that won't happen. Unless they disappoint, I think Mauga and Bellore are gonna be really good players for the Jets and one could be as good if not better than Scott within a year or two if they continue to develop. Therefore, I'm not so sure I could see the taking an OLB and an ILB in the draft.

WW85 are there any potential CB to FS transitions in the 2012 draft class? If so, I think that might be the way for the Jets to go in the 3rd or 4th round. I think they have a group of safeties that are very good against the run, but who are all mediocre in coverage.
