Yesssssssssssssss! CONN-JET.2.0.3.Are you ok? lol Typing is very theraputic and it doesn't break bones. LOL!
Read his tweets before your post and though the exact same thing. Hope he does not tweet too often. Hope he brings some game as well.
I find the Mardy Gilyard move intriguing. Most of his value thus far in his career has been as a returner so this will at least give Kerley some competition. He also presents some upside as a slot receiver.
Like PT Barnum said' theres a sucker born every minute" Why can't we be friends? (real old song by WAR) LOL, heck who came up with this slogan? signed quirpy with one eye and one ear in a "you be be the judge" contest
Players should only be allowed on twitter once they pass an english test... I'm happy about getting him on board but one has to question why no one except us put in a claim. That said I have a feeling for Baxter and Schlaudy (can't be bothered) this will be a one week audition... if the CS doesn't deem one of them game ready it will cut ties (possibly moving him to the PS) and bring in a vet (after wk 1 so his salary isn't guaranteed). Wonder it it might do the same with O'Connell/Clemens (as Kellen is a vested vet too fwiw).
PS BTW I would've preferred Avery over Gilyard... we have crisp route runners in Holmes, Mason and Kerley... we lack a true vertical threat (Holmes can do that but it's kind of wasting him).
I think he's trying to say just sending Holmes running up a sideline would be wasting his great route running and play making ability. I agree, but at the same time I think it would be foolish to not use his speed to our ability every once in a while. See: Mike Wallace.
Did he say that, the future? How do you know what he means, are you his keeper? Since you like to hypothesize I will too. I don't think Gilyard will even be on the team next year and I don't think he would be now if the Jets claim on Tate went through..I'll bet you do though, right?
In the sense that Holmes can do so much more... sure we're going to use him as a "standard" deep threat sometimes but he's at his best when he uses his route running to beat his man. I think Burress-Holmes-Avery would perform better than Burress-Holmes-Gilyard... don't you? At least it would be more different than our standard 3 WR set (Burress-Holmes-Mason/Kerley). Exactly... I feel like Gilyard is very similar to Kerley and Mason while Avery brings something different to the table.
I think Holmes-Burress-Mason-Kerley-Gilyard looks just fine. Our targets will probably look like this: 1. Santonio Holmes 2. Dustin Keller 3. Derrick Mason 4. Plaxico Burress 5. The backs 6. Jeremy Kerley 7. Jeff Cumberland 8. Mardy Gilyard It really doesn't matter who our fifth receiver is because that player won't get much action outside of specials. Derrick Mason is a definite stop gap. What's wrong with bringing in some similar players to develop behind him? Gilyard clearly has talent, he proved that at Cincinnati. Hopefully that will start to show in New York.
