That would have been great, almost anything we got got would be almost as useful as he was last year.
Slumberland and dick fingers. Funniest shit I've heard all day. Sent from my HTC6515LVW using Tapatalk
I really don't understand why fans are trashing this guy. He was an Undrafted FA who persevered through multiple injuries to carve out a 6 year NFL career. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He couldn't even run fast in game. He ran a good 40 time, bulked up and put on shoulder pads in the NFL and all that speed disappeared. A tightend that runs a 4.45 should take over games. I guess you can't blame him for being relied upon, you have to blame the front office and coaching staff for an oversight like that. I'd rather a tightend that blocks at this point personally, especially with all the other weapons all over the offense. It does wonders in the run game. Anthony Becht was a 3rd tackle and vastly underrated by Jets fans in the way he transformed the running game for Curtis Martin in the early to mid 2000s. A Zach Miller or a Ben Watson would've been good pickups for this team. Hopefully moving forward this front office disowns the idea of trying to find their own Jimmy Graham with the Jeff Cumberland/Wes Saxton/Jace Amaro type projects and nab a good Wisconsin/Iowa type blocking tightend later in the draft. Most of our problems in the running game last year stemmed from the fact that Kellen Davis/Enunwa were only used to block the backside end by coming across the formation at the snap of the ball. This is because that's all they could really do and it left us in a 5 OL to block 6 LB/DL on the front side. We lose that battle everytime with a limping Ivory that had no elusiveness to make a man miss and possibly a Brian Winters whiff. Get a tightend that can generate a push forward off the ball.
