Crowder is a punk. I didnt watch the fight live, but I saw the replay. What a b*tch. He's losing the game and he gets his @ss kicked in the fight but he ends up hooting and hollering afterward like he's just won the superbowl or something. Light was just laughing like "you got be kidding me?" thats the first time I've sided with a pats player in a long time - Is this first place stuff getting to me?
All of you who think that Light not getting suspended would be goodell being soft on a particular team are wrong, he won't suspend him because that has never really been the penalty for fighting except in a particularly egregious instance.
Excuse me but E. Smith got suspended for a hit in a game that would have never been a suspension before either. That wasn't intentional. Light grabbed the guy by his hair with his helmet off and got 3-5 punches in like he was in the NHL. B.S. if this guy doesn't get suspended it most certainly does show favoritism by Goodell. I will have no doubt Kraft is lining his pockets if he doesn't get suspended.
i saw it, whats even funnier is Light hammered him point blank and crowder is smiling on his face like "are you fucking kidding me?" yeah that was some of the dirtiest shit ive ever seen and ive played on both sides of the trenches. i can understand the grabbing tugging and pushing after the whistle but when you start grabbing players by their head and punching them. thats fuckin absurd. if light doesnt get suspended its definitely further proof of the extra lube the league office keeps on its palms for the pats.
apple and oranges. you can't compare a hit like E.Smith's to a fight between two players. i'd be shocked if there's any suspensions Light or Crowder. A fine is much more likely. $25,000 I'd say.
Now that makes two clASSless Boston a-holes that like to fight with there mask on Jason "How the fuck did I make the All Star Team" Veri"bitch"tek ,and Matt "Can't Fight" Light.
Wait, so a football hit in the endzone in a scoring situation is unacceptable, but grabbing a guy by the hair, yanking him down and punching him in the back of the head is excusable? I will be shocked if there is a suspension, but not because of the act.
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/pl...news.asp?sport=NFL&id=1085&line=132419&spln=1 This would not be good news for the Pats with there game being against the Steelers this week. A Jets win and a Pats loss could give the Jets a strangle hold on the division.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80cc5361&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true I wouldn't hold my breath for a suspension. Gotta love playing in this National Patriots League we're all so privilaged to be a part of. EDIT: I thought the bolded part said 'discipline' instead of review. There may still be a chance that Goodell does the right thing here.
Light would just appeal a suspension to get the best game off anyway. He plays this week is my bet, cheats play the seahawks the week after.
yes, because there is an established set of penalties for on field infractions, fighting is usually a fine between 10 and 25K, A helmet to helmet hit is usually either a fine or a 1 game suspension at the discretion of the league office. This is what you all keep missing, the commissioner doesn't get to just pull a random punishment out of nowhere there are guidelines he has to stay within based on the agreements made in the CBA. Could he give Light a 1 game suspension? maybe it is the high end, more than that and he will have trouble with the players union, and the suspension would be overturned on appeal anyway.
I don't really see what Crowder did to get himself ejected..... pushing after the whistle was almost a common occurance in yesterdays Giants/Cards game and I didn't see Duece Lutui and Antonio Pierce get into a fight. It was a bitch move by Light but why am I not surprised the "Model Organization" is once again at the front of this? He probably won't get suspended but if he did and appealed he likely would still be suspended for this weeks game if he lost the appeal (see Eric Smith) If Vince Fuckfork didn't get suspended with his intent to injure Cutler than this piece of trash won't either.
there have been a few, off the top of my head I know in 2002 harrison and kenoy kennedy both got 1 game suspensions for H2H
Maybe I am wrong then. I'm trying to think of an incident where there was a fight with one player having his helmet off and the other landed multiple punches but can't come up with anything. Do you remember if Turley got suspended for ripping off the helmet and launching it?
Has Light done this before? If so, he might be suspended. It doesn't look like Turley was suspended. http://espn.go.com/nfl/news/2001/1105/1274080.html NEW ORLEANS -- It wasn't as bad as it could have been -- New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett originally thought about cutting tackle Kyle Turley or at least suspending him. But it was no slap on the wrist either. Turley was fined $25,000 for conduct detrimental to the team during Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Turley has also agreed to undergo counseling at the team's request. Turley attacked Jets safety Damien Robinson when Robinson grabbed the face mask of Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks and twisted it. Turley ripped Robinson's helmet off and threw it downfield, then made an obscene gesture. His actions got him tossed out of the game. They also drew a 15-yard penalty that ended the Saints' final chance to tie or win the game. The Saints lost 16-9. (snip) Haslett said Monday he believed the league should also reprimand Robinson. Commissioner Paul Tagliabue was at the game, the first prime-time outing for the Saints since 1999. "Kyle Turley, like most NFL players, doesn't give up until the fat lady has sung," said Tagliabue. "He's in there to win. He's an outstanding player that doesn't give up. But he's a little too exuberant." But also read here: http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/sports/2001/11/08/2001-11-08_robinson_fined_herm_unhappy_.html Edwards always preaches professionalism to his players, and he was embarrassed by the WWF-like scene that unfolded with 1:06 remaining in the Jets' nationally televised victory in New Orleans. Edwards lectured the team yesterday, telling the players that the Robinson-Turley melee "mars the league." The league apparently thought so, too. Gene Washington, the NFL director of football operations, informed both players that repeat infractions of this type will result in suspension. (snip) The Saints fined Turley $25,000, and he agreed to attend anger-management sessions. Washington said no further discipline would be imposed on Turley, but he indicated that the league would've fined him if the Saints hadn't taken action.
Matt light punches like a little bitch. Crowder takes a punch like a little girl. Cat fights are cool!
