Well, the high-priced WR has won a bunch of games for us in a short amount of time and was a Super Bowl MVP. The "possible backup" didn't last through his first pre-season. Makes sense to me.
It's a blessing If anything this reflects well on the front office. How would signing Henne help this team? He was terrible in Miami, and the Jets couldn't compete with a team that offered him the chance to compete for the starting a job, unless they wanted to overpay for a backup QB. So unless you wanted Henne to replace Sanchez (unless you're crazy), consider this a good thing.
I'm going 2-0. McElroy is garbage never will be more than a 3rd and that is being generous. If the Jets draft a QB in the later round he might be gone before training camp is over.
Sanchez's extension has killed any chance of a viable QB coming to the NYJ's. Might as well stand pat with the driftwood we have now at backup QB.
