Is this thread for real? Some of you guys are actually saying it's totally fine if Cro hits his kids? Also, a smack to the head is a lot difference from the allegation quoted in the OP: " [hit a 6 yr old] so hard in the chest that he fell to the floor." That's despicable if true. You guys go through some mental gymnastics trying to justify, approve of, and even praise some of the off-field antics the Jets players and coaching staff are accused of. If they were part of any other organization, they'd be ridiculed and judged mercilessly here. It's OK to separate the human being from the jersey.
It's a 6 year old, a small shove could knock a 6 year old to the ground. That being said, maybe someone in this thread is justifying his behavior but all I have seen is some people saying a little physical discipline isn't the end of the world. I tend to agree there and with nothing but hearsay from a bitter ex to go on I don't see why anyone that doesn't have an agenda to hate the Jets would really draw much of a conclusion from this. We all know Cro isn't the greatest dude in the world. That is obvious from how many kids he has with all different women. His personal life is really of no concern to me as a Jets fan as long as he isn't in jail.
The league is not an arm of law enforcement. As far as breeding crimes, it's the fact that the drugs are illegal that does that, not the chemicals themselves.
Reports that Jets plan to let Cromartie Walk Appearing on NFL Network’s Total Access program Wednesday night, Mike Lombardi cited multiple sources to report that the Jets are likely to let free agent cornerback Antonio Cromartie walk this offseason. More to come. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/16/report-jets-plan-to-let-antonio-cromartie-walk/
Case is building for Aso, never understood why we would to keep Cro anyway, he's a talent but a liability in coverage for us. Was not an upgrade over Lowery or Lito.
If anyone didn't see Lombardi's segment on the NFL Network... Lombardi said something with the connotation of... his sources are telling him the Jets are likely to let Cromartie walk, go to free agency, and that that's in some regards due to the fact that they want to keep both receivers and he said his sources believe that will be their focus (keeping the receivers) now that they have the rights to Harris with the franchise tag. He said that the Jets want to retain both Tone and Braylon, want them under contract, and feel it's the best move for Mark, and for their offense, too. If anyone has the NFL Total Access, his segment on this topic comes up under the "Jets to keep receivers" highlight.
Seems like a good move to prioritize the WRs. I'm not banking on Aso, but this certainly moves it from fantasy to improbability.
It has been obvious since before the season ended that we were getting rid of Cro. With Wilson ready to play behind him he is not a priority.
Nobody has any solid proof, or evidence that Wilson is ready to be the 2nd corner right now. I doubt the coaching staff is even sure right now.
When you have core players that need to be resigned and only 1 has someone on the team already that can play his position well. Who do you think is gong to be released? Not to mention he is probably the least important of the 4.
Cromartie was good last year, but if the Jets can improve their pass rush through the draft losing Cromartie wont be a big deal. Kyle Wilson will have to step up. I think I would rather keep Holmes and Braylon.
wait i dont understand the first sentence. you can argue harris, holmes, and cromartie need to be signed first, or last. what i was saying is that nobody is sure about Wilson yet. i believe in him, but we havent seen it yet.
Nothing new here but and since it was right next to the Cromartie article on rotoworld I think this could easily be the most likely replacement for Cromartie last shot at a ring, and he wont require a long term deal allowing Wilson to step in in a few years. Give the guy a 3 year contract and boom.
At the end of the day we're more prepared to replace cro than Braylon or Santonio. Kyle Wilson can be that guy. he just needs to be thrown in the fire. The kid is smart and has all the physical tools. He got a little rattled last year confidence wise but you don't all of a sudden lose your ability. I gotta say, I hope Lombardi is right. I rather this scenario be the case than losing our receivers. cro was good but he got burned too. Let's not forget his stupid penalties at times, one being that critical 3rd down play on the opening series.
