He's an idiot, but he is our #2CB, and would be a #1 on well over half of the teams in the NFL, and generally keeps his idiocy off the field. Would I wish he was a boy scout, yeah that would be nice, but I'll gladly take the trade off of dealing with his mouth off the field for having a CB tandem that basically eliminates the outside deep game 95% of the time.
Hill or Chaz doesn't really have a say in anything because they are unproven. I honestly think Cromartie means no harm, maybe he's trying to do something to toughen this team up, if it makes them compete and get better that much more than I honestly have no issue with that he's doing. I could also be wrong. He better not play this undisciplined this season though or we'll see Cromartie fumbling the football, etc
It's amazing how selfish this guy can be. A huge problem last year was chemistry and things said in the media. Rex goes out and says how team chemistry is a must this season. What does this guy do in one week? Claim he's the best WR and then start stuff with Keller and Hill, right after Rex told everyone to cut it out. Add this to what Holmes said a couple weeks ago and nothing has changed. Rex needs to send a message to this team and get them to shut up or we'll just see what we saw at the end of last year. Back to Cro, he's an overrated #2 who needs to shut up and play more physical against opponents, not teammates.
I don't mind Cro. He says stupid stuff, whatever. He played well the second half of the season and is a great talent to have.
He's challenging a bunch of unproven WRs to step up, in his own special way. Cro is good enough to talk shit to noobs.
That's fine and all but last year proved this team isn't good enough to win with conflict. No team is, team chemistry is extremely important. Laying Keller out when he's in a vulnerable position when you're soft as tissue is something that will piss guys off. Especially right after the coach says to knock it off and after a year where conflict destroyed the team. If the motivation works, fine we need someone to step up at WR, but it could be done in other ways.
Except when you have too many talented assholes you get last season. Funny how other teams can manage to find talented players that aren't assholes. At least in Rex's first couple of years the clowns were balanced out and kept in line by leaders like Woody, Jenkins, Richardson, etc. Not having those guys and bringing in more gasbags last year put us over critical mass in that department.
What makes you think the offense is letting him punk them, when Cro's been at the center of at least one or two camp fights? I can't believe after everything that happened last year and all the stock Rex put in getting away at camp that things are actually getting worse this year, but here we are.
Please. Cromartie and Santonio being assholes is not the reason we weren't in the playoffs. Wayne Hunter being unbelievably awful, our safeties being incredibly slow and awful, and Sanchez playing very poorly in his last 3 games and at other times during the season is why we were not in the playoffs. In fact I'd say some of our biggest boy scouts on the team are what kept us out. I'll take a Cromartie over Jim Leonhard or Eric Smith or Wayne Hunter any day.
Thank you. My biggest pet peeve about this offseason is all the talk that the Jets missed the playoffs because they were too dysfunctional. They missed the playoffs because their linebackers couldn't set an edge, their safety play was brutal, their receivers couldn't get separation down the field, their offensive line was awful, and Sanchez pretty much collapsed. In other words, they weren't good enough. And, with all that said, Cromartie was absolutely not one of the problems.
Just about everything about this post is false. 1. Under-achiever? Are you kiddin me? He's a top 10-15 CB in the NFL. 2. Where did you hear he was lazy? You don't stay in the type of condition he is in by being lazy. 3. You don't get to the NFL without working hard. I don't care how talented you are. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. I wouldn't say he's cocky, but I would say he just has a lot of swag. I like it. He may not be the smartest man in the world, but he does his job well.

A Shitty OC, A shitty RT, inconsistent WR's for Sanchez and his below par play, our run defense..you can go on and on but they didn't make it because of the drama is ridiculous. The drama was because THEY WEREN'T CUTTING IT.
I'm guessing what they're meaning by under-achiever is that with his athletic talent he could POTENTIALLY be better than Revis, or at around there abouts. Tough ask though haha.
