So about an hour ago, I got a call from my CC company that my card was getting a $500 charge for a laptop from Walmart.com. It wasn't me. So I went through the normal steps to have the card being closed and all the rest. The weird part about this is that I got an e-mail confirmation sent to my e-mail ago about the order. The order was a site-to-store order, which means the person can buy the product online and pick it up in the store. The Walmart was in Oberlin, OH. Also, the pick up person for the laptop was listed as me. This means the dude went in through my Walmart account to make the purchase. On top of this, I was able to log into my Walmart account and see what was going on, which was weird to me because I figured this thief would change the password. So of course, I changed the password. I called the Walmart and told them if someone comes in trying to pick up this product, don't give it to them. Does this story sound fishy to anyone? To me, it's either the dumbest identity thief on the face of the earth, or some weird computer error.
It almost sounds like a glitch in the Walmart system, I don't know how the guy would be able to pick it up without ID.
This is what I was thinking. It's either some type of error or someone who works inside the Walmart is doing it.
You should have met him over there and been like "Hi, I'm (whatever your name is)" just to see the look on his face
It'd be nice if they kept the person waiting while they called the cops when the guy shows up to collect the computer.
My son bought a Knick shirt in Foot Locker and his card was comprimised, the credit card company called me and said $2600 was spent on car parts in France, I couldn't believe it...
I somehow once spent over a $1000 dollars at three different Ross' Department stores in California. -I've never even been to California -I've never even been in a Ross'
