There is no way if fuch we are beating the Eagles unless Bradford goes down. I see wins against the Browns and Redskins (2 weeks to prepare). One additional win in the first 6 games makes us relevant. Best chance is against the Dolphins IMO.
IDK from what I saw the Jets just did not seem all on the same page. I'm talking about only the first half / first team. Maybe it's a new coach thing or a crazy off season but IMO they need to gel more before I predict 9 wins for them. I see the talent to be really good, just not the cohesion.
Now and then and probably to the surprise of those homers here who care about the subject (not that my ego leaves me to think much about that, but just saying), I can find reasons for optimism. Says here that the Jets D could be a rather tall order for the Indy offense, and I can see the Jets perhaps winning that game. Not sure why the Browns scare you, but of course all four of those games come with questions. Never beaten Philly, Bradford could be healthy and effective. Miami? It's probably going to be hot. Beating Indy could be huge. I am not giving up on it.
I'm worried about the Browns because they have a decent defense and the Jets are supposed to win the game and it's the home opener. That's the triple whammy from the perspective of a jaded Jets fan of 40+ years standing.
I just can't see us sweeping the Dolphins. I think Tanny is going to have a big year and Jarvis Landry is going to be a stud. That week 4 game in Miami is going to be tough. _
Our secondary matches up perfectly with the Dolphins receivers IMO. I think we beat the Fins, but it will be a tough game, it always is ... the only way I see the Fins winning WK 4 is if Suh has a field day against our Gs. Landry will be on Revis Island, and their deep threat Kenny Stills will have some trouble shaking Cro off - not to mention Tanny has shit deep ball accuracy.
We aren't beating the Eagles IMO, I see us losing to the Colts and Eagles back to back. 2-2 at the BYE.
I see your point. Heh. Having said that, it's all on Fitzpatrick. If he has a good game the Jets win.
Wow what a difference a year makes on this board! Lotsa people talking winning record, at least breaking even, beating good teams, possible WC entry. I still say 8-8 to be consrvative but I am positively enthused with this team. You dont have to be drinking the Soma to believe we CAN POSSIBLY win every game.
short of Fitz playing terribly, putting Cheapo back in would be a bad coaching move imo.. in terms of assigning W's and L's, it's fun to do but so difficult. you know one of those shitty teams will beat us, and we'll pull off a surprise or two. also teams that look real tough right now might have a totally different outlook by mid season. things change quickly so who knows.. you have us being swept by both Buff and NE tho. it's possible, but would be pretty unacceptable with our talent level.. have to find a way to be at least .500 within the division, or a winning season probably doesn't happen. that might be the key.
oh man a L there would be terrible! so important to this season we come out strong and take a winnable game at home. especially considering i want Fitz to remain the starter..
1st..Boy? 2nd If you would had pay so much attention to what I write then you should had remember I posted a poll not sure how long ago. That New Yorkers are the rudest people in the USA. That wasn't me saying it but America.
Point taken, esp. on the Brownies. Their OL with Mack, Bitonio and Joe Thomas is stout. And as good as Jets DL is, would feel better with ShelRich available against that unit. That said, Gordon's out and Hartline and Bowes are WRs I think Jet DBs can contain. McCown's another year removed from his nice fill-in stint for Cutler 2 years ago. Offensively, stay away from Joe Hayden. Colts: conversely speaking, I'm thinking that the Jets best chance at Indy might lay with the Colts' suspect run defense which could allow the Jets to win time of possession and keep Luck on the sidelines, i.e. shortening the game.
I know. I like Pace. He is a pro. But I could not help thinking that some of his sacks were, like: 'well, he was the guy who happened to be there." Not that he was throwing guys around and swooping in.
Not "boy," bellboy (I knew you'd desparately try to latch on to that strawman, er, that Don't be a pussy - take your medicine and own up to the fact that your "I have shown nothing but people respect on here..." was nothing but self-serving horseshit. The fact remains: you trolled a thread asking New Yorkers for travel tips with "Best thing you can do is don't go. New Yorkers are assholes." Weasel.
fyp The W's and L's were just for fun and to put it out there (I did add the "too early" advisory). As for being swept by Buff and NE, I didn't like what I saw last year vs. Buffalo and I think Rex's 1st time around he'll be pulling out the bells & whistles. As for NE, in addition to Gronk they picked up 6' 7" Scott Chandler and I do not like that matchup either. Buster Skrines will help against Edelman in the slot but still, Brady vs. our LBs makes me cringe. Hey if I end up wrong about Buffalo and New England, I'd be happy as a pig in slop.
Call it whatever you want but I know why I posted that. Should I had posted it? No maybe not but the way I look at shit you don't tell someone all the good. I was just telling him what he may run into.
