Had several Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere Harvest on tap this weekend. Real good fresh hoppy taste, slightly citrus. 6.7% ABV. I'll be going back for more.

It's also compatible with Newcastle mini kegs, which I prefer to Heineken -- I should have it by the weekend! Slainte!

my friend has some giant corked sierra nevada 30th anniversary brew. we were waiting for the jets to beat the steelers to pop it open. obviously never happened. prolly gonna get into that soon though.
Here is our newest brew. A German Weizenbier with a hint of blueberry. Tastes really good. Very summery.
Nah, certain ones are good if they do it right. It can't be overpowering. Try Bluepoint's Blueberry Ale, very good. Not feminine at all. Fruit beers are good for the summer. Someone I know made a Watermelon beer, very good also. A few days ago I tried I think it was a Shock Top Raspberry, the Raspberry was so overpowering it was ridiculous.
Are IPA's an acquired taste? Seems like beer aficionado's love IPA's but I just can't warm up to 'em. I buy a 6 pack of IPA every couple weeks thinking I might enjoy it this time but by the time I'm at the 3rd beer I find it nasty. Overly bitter and dry mouth-feel Then again, I'm drinking straight from the bottle and at a pretty fast rate. Are you supposed to pour them into a pint glass and sip like a gentlemen?
Pint glass, sure. Let it breathe young grasshopper. Acquired taste, definitely. Don't start with the big boys. Start with standard domestic IPAs.
IPAs are rough on me for the same reasons. I can enjoy the darkest beers, can't stand IPAs. I know some people who love them though. Anyway, if there is glassware available, you always drink a beer from a glass and never drink overly fast. Crappy beer is made to drink from the bottle and for chugging.
Going to the Plattduetsche Park restaurant in Franklin Square out here on Long Island for their annual Bavarian Festival later today. It's today and tomorrow. They have lots of good German bier and food and they have a gigantic bier garden. Very, very excited. Should be a good time.

I took a dump in a McDonalds where Jeff Torborg and his barber each ordered a number 6 off the breakfast menu.
Drinking Harpoon Leviathan Imperial IPA right now. They're tasty, I get them every now and then. They only come in 4 packs for 10 bucks but they are incredibly smooth and not over sweetened like a 90 minute Dogfish. The Dogfish 90 and 120 are so heavily malted, the hop flavor is overrun. 10% alcohol by volume in a not over the top IPA equals bliss in a bottle. Still raining here, keep the beer flowing.......
Just picked up a six of the Founders Centennial IPA for a BBQ we're having later today. Clocks in at 7.2% and comes highly recommended. I'm excited!!!

I'm just drinking Stone IPAs today, not Ruinations. Nothing special. Nah, I'm playing around. Def my favorite beer at the moment. I'm putting it over Racer 5 and the Green Flash West Coast for summer ingestion.
