Off the field, no. On the field yes. A lot of Jets fans got upset in 10-11 when experts picked them, especially when it was in the AFC Championship. A lot of Jets fans get upset from negative articles because they usually aren't based in any reasonable points. Like Cowherd here saying Tebow and the lockerroom will bring down the Jets. Not the newer players on defense, not the offensive line, not Sanchez, not the running game, not the safety, but the backup QB and the lockerroom? Great reasoning there.
I'll believe it when I see it. Right now, the Bills seem to be a media favorite. I figure that will last ... oh, about two or three months. That doesn't mean that I don't think the Bills will be much improved this season, but rather that the media is sort of like a flock of ducks on a pond, rushing from one potential feeder to another. I will admit, though, that it feels both great and disconcerting at the same to be a media fave. They just seem to be doing everything right recently. They just signed Vince Young today to compete for the backup QB spot with Tyler Thigpen and maybe be a wildcat QB.
The locker room issues and Tebow all stem from Sanchez's failure to play well last season. Even some of the OL issues, especially his sacks and fumbles, are on Sanchez because he doesn't make pre-snap reads well and he takes too long to get rid of the ball even when he's only chucking it to his check-down receiver 5 yards short of the first down marker on third and eight.
On Sportsnation today, after hearing Sanchez call Tebow the "backup" a bunch of times, he called the Jets a dumpster fire that you can't look away from. (Paraphrasing now) He then said while traffic is jammed watching the dumpster fire, the limo you see driving by, paying no attention, is the Pats. He laughed the whole time. So did Beadle. His Pats love is absurdly over the top. It was very tongue in cheek. Please don't take anything he says seriously as a Jets fan.
Saying the jets will go 7-9 is not farfetched. I obviously don't want that to happen but it wouldn't surprise me.
Does Bufalo even count as a city? Soon enough America will just give it to Canada as people normally do with the old clothes they dont want by giving them to the poor folk.
So you are agreeing and saying cowherd didn't have good reasoning for his jets prediction? I don get why you quoted my post and responded with this, I'm missing something here
Nope, I'm a Catt County native from the opposite end of the county up near Gowanda and the Zoar Valley. After wandering in the desert of urban America for thirty years, I recovered my senses and returned to "God's Own Country", the western Southern Tier.
I think you and Cowherd are both saying the same thing. He's summarizing the situation from the perspective of a media guy who has limited space/time to write or say what he thinks so he takes the main points. You are writing/talking about the same thing from the perspective of a fan and are looking at the detail level.
Holy shit, I never knew that it would take a freaking Bills fan to figure this out. I have been saying this for months and nobody seems to notice or care. Sanchez was pretty much to blame for 90% of problems on O last season. You can point to isolated instances of the o-line, WR, etc. playing poorly but at the end of the day, your supposed franchise QB has a multiplier effect on all of those things put together. Want to join gang green by any chance?
I love seeing Colin giving encouraging statements for every team EXCEPT the Jets. 3-13 Dolphins...don't give up you guys!
as a Bills fan,,, your team has to PROVE they are better than the jets/pats. talent means sh*t as Eagles fans no oh too well.....and the Bills havent been able to do sh*t every single gdamn year..............that should be a Bills fans point of view.
The Bills 9-7? Are you serious? Totally overrated. Cowherd don't know jack. Pats are the clear favorite and could go 13-3 or even 14-2. If the Jets start Tebow day one, they win at least 10 games. Otherwise, I'd say 8-8 for the Jets. No way the Bills win 8 games. Ryan Kirpatrick was a one-year wonder.
