or the Plaxico Burress on Pittsburgh, spiking the ball on the 5 yard line thinking he was in the end zone.
Sterling Sharpe did it in a game in Milwaukee one time. In a MNF game vs Chicago, Bobby Duckworth of the Chargers had a clear route to the end zone, but inexplicably fumbled without being hit. (different type of deal, though)
This game is out of hand with the points. I guess I should've known better than to start the Cowboys D. Why isn't Asante Samuel on T.O. is my question?
man these teams can move the football! Their offensive lines are giving the QB enough time for the recievers to go 20 or more yards down field on every pass play. I think I would be very pleased with the Jets, win or lose if they moved the ball this well
The over/under was 47. The game went over with more than half the 2nd quarter remaining. Over 50 points in a half?
wow, what a play by mcnabb with that scramble. btw, watching the ease with which the eagles scored when they had 1st and goal at the 1yd line was so painful after yesterday's debacle...
i can't wait... that series needs to be scrutinized so it never happens again.. I want the media to attack it all week and into next Monday Night.
haha, yup - we're going to go from one extreme to the other when they pull up some of the jets highlights from yesterday
I think the 54 points might be the 2nd highest halftime total in Monday Night Football history. The real record is 70. Houston (35) vs Oakland (35), 12-22-63 Next in line- 63- Eagles (42) vs Detroit (21), 9-23-07 62- Jets (41) vs Buccaneers (21), 11-17-85 62- Colts (35) vs Bengals (27), 11-20-05 As for the 2nd half records- 66- (Browns-Bengals 11-28-04) 65- (Redskins-Giants, 11-27-66) 62- (Raiders-Chargers, 1-2-83) 62- (Ravens-Seahawks, 11-23-03)
Including the postseason, these teams had met 97 times prior to tonight. This is the first time each of them eclipsed 30 points.
