The media must have had nothing to talk about this week.

He'd never take a paycut. And he's not worth what Minnesota will ask for.

Trading him for a pick only to resign him in the off-season would be a great move then lol

I've always compared Cousins to Chad Pennington. Someone who knows how to play QB, but lacks the arm to get it done at the top level. So far we've seen the Jets have a lot of talent, on both sides of the ball, but are missing the key ingredient, QB. Who knows? I think this team might have enough to go deep into the playoffs, if a guy like Cousins can provide some stability on offense. However, if I remember correctly, the main reason he didn't accept the Jets offer is that his wife didn't want to live in NY, so there's that. As for Rodgers, I hope he recovers, but never suits up for the Jets again.

I agree the Jets have made their position clear: ZW sits behind a vet QB for a year or few while the team maximizes its potential now and tries to rehab their QB of the future.

KC fits perfectly in that plan with the unexpected injury of AR.

Will MN trade him? Only time will tell, they have till the end of the month to decide. IMO a loss to the Bears makes it happen sooner than later. Siemien was already traded once to the Vikings. Him, our 3rd and a 4th or two should be enough to make it happen if he’s available.

WIth good QB play, we are a 4-1 team with wins against the SB champs and the division champs…. I’m not sure how you can say the Jets aren’t SB contenders with KC behind center.

Jets fans would obviously want to see us winning and breaking the post-season drought so we'd love Cousins as he gives us a chance of that. Zach fans would naturally be against it.

As for the people who actually matter though?

Right now they can cruise into next year on the premise of "Rodgers is coming back and last season was bad but we HAD to start Zach Wilson so what do you expect?" Vs a chance to show what the team they constructed and coached can do with a QB who can run an offense at an NFL level and actually get the stink of failure off their backs. The drawback to that is if they get Cousins, still stink it up to go sub .500 and therefore that raises the issue of whether Rodgers=SB is a thing with this current GM/HC combo.

My gut tells me they'll not risk exposing themselves and they'll keep going with Zach.

EDIT: Would be fun though to find out that the Vikings have a prospect in Jaren Hall who replaced Zach at BYU :D

Imagine Rogers gets healthy by his crazy target date while Cousins is firing on all cylinders with this offense.

It's what Idzik could've pulled off with Revis.... instead he let him go to the PATS, win a ring, so the JETS could sign him when he's another year older and slower....

Hard pass. It’s not worth the rental at this juncture of the season.

No question, this is really just a fun exercise and a way to see where people stand as far as whether they want to ride it out or really try and make a run. The Jets have drawn the line in the sand, Zach is the guy, there's no going back on that at this point unless he gets hurt or fails miserably. No one roots for injury, and it doesn't look like he will fail miserably enough for them to bench him again because that would be the end of it, so we go with what we got!

I just don't see plugging in a QB with no working relationship with the players and playbook mid-season really working out very well.... it's not like picking up a WR and telling him to get open a few times a game...

No way Douglas/Saleh move on from Zach Wilson this year barring injury. They are somehow still convinced he was a good draft pick at #2.

Aaron Rodgers would not approve of this trade so there is no chance it happens. And what Rodgers wants, Rodgers gets.

And I don't think a Cousin would get us to the playoffs anyways.

The Jets should not trade for Cousins mainly b/c ZW is playing much better. Don't give away any draft capital for him.

Does Cousins make us better than Zach? Absolutely. Does Cousins win us a SB? Absolutely not. Will Cousins be here after this season? Absolutely not. Why are we advocating giving up picks for him? Sign Wentz off his couch, he’s just as average.

Why give up any more assets at this point?
This team is likely not a playoff team, sorry…gut feeling.
And do people forget how little this guy wanted to be a Jet when we actually pursued him??
He took less money to go to Minny so he didn’t have to play here. F Kirk Cousins.

Aaron Rodgers our savior has already proclaimed he will be back with the team after the bye.

If Cousins is here Rodgers won't be. Pretty sure the Jets want Arod happy so he definitely returns in '25.

While he'll only patrol the sideline his presence clearly makes a big difference. Zach played his best game ever with Rodgers in the house.

Then again Taylor Swift was there that night too. Maybe sign her for a few games down the stretch. Couldn't hurt.

ARod will be back with the team as support. He's not playing after the bye.

I am aware of that. I said that in my post. But, if Cousins is here Rodgers will not come back to the sideline.

His presence helped Zach against the Chiefs and I'm sure the Jets brass is counting on the same effect after the bye.
