It's amazing to hear the talking heads try to squeeze every positive out of this.

He's going to come back with a chip on his shoulder.

Brady is old and could afford to skip 4 games anyway. He will come back fresh.

    Belichick will "coach harder" now.

    It's really impressive.

When we do go it is without a blemished record. The patriots don't deserve that name. Th New England muslim extremists would be a better name for you with all the underhanded shit you all pull year in and out.

"What Tom has had to endure throughout this 18-month ordeal has been, in my opinion, as far removed from due process as you could ever expect in this country."

I believe the proper term for comments like that is, "tone-deaf".

they might be right about Brady coming out strong who knows but I did get a laugh out of ESPNs "The Patriots are in Good Hands with Garapoopalo" headline on the day it all went down.

A couple of shaky appearances in mop up duty, his only real playing time (2nd half v. Buffalo 2014) he gets just as many sacks as points, and ESPN has no problem declaring that he's ready to take the torch from Brady and/or they wont see much drop off.

somehow I don't see QBs with similar resumes in other cities getting that same positive forecast. If Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith get suspended are they going to write that the Jets "are in good hands with Bryce Petty"? :D

I think it won't help him come out strong. He'll be rested and healthy but the rest of the league will be playing a quicker speed then they do it week 1. It also means 4 weeks with everyone adjusting to Garap. i suspect a hick up at least for game one. I also keep in mind how he came out of the gate 2 years, i suspect a slower start from Brady.

Basically Brady carried it as long as he could because he feels/knows he did nothing wrong and there is no conclusive evidence to the contrary. Only evidence of a fucked up self serving investigation.

This will continue with the next CBA. Goodell will look like the total asshole he is and we likely will have a strike year or work action again.

    Continue the parade.

I see zero mention in your post about Kraft being the owner that championed Goodell and was most responsible for his becoming comish and receiving such over reaching powers in the last CBA. Kraft openly campaigned what a great job Roger was doing when he railroaded other teams. Is Roger an asshat? Yes. Did the Pats get railroaded? Yes (assuming this isn't a compounded punishment for other shit not known publicly yet) Should i feel sympathy when kraft created this situation? Absolutely not.

Agree on Kraft, it's awkward. Now he is like an old senile uncle you have to invite for the holidays.

Really?! Just short 12 months ago your homep*triots were here bragging about "Crafty Bob".
From behind the scene genius to senile uncle in 60 seconds.

You also forgot that by NFL ruling from spygate ANY further violation will result in severe sanctions against FO. That means that BB was supposed to be suspended for whole last year, minimum.
I don't care if you don't believe a word of the report, your organization accepted the charges, yet BB was never suspended.

    Let me repeat:
2007 ruling: anything shady from NEP in the future and FO gets fucked
    2014: NEP accepts charges
NFL: no consequences to the FO

Think maybe it has something to do with Roger suckling Bob's tit? You keep yapping that Roger is against you... bullshit!! Roger was covering your cheating asses for 15 years, but sometimes you can't cover shit-smeared ass with a napkin. Especially if that ass is the size of Boston and the whole country got a front-row view of your browny behinds.

    NEP are CHEATERS!
    Live with it

You're gonna find out that the players are not going to sit out on strike over Rogers power to lose money

5% of the players - perhaps Brady's type can afford it

The rest need that pay. Only a small % who want to push the rules or conduct policy get their dick cut off

    Article 46 will forever stay

Report: Brady allowing NFLPA to continue appeal

Tom Brady gave the NFL Players Association permission to proceed with the appeal of his suspension for his role in the Deflategate scandal, despite announcing that he would accept the four-game ban.

The New England Patriots quarterback wrote on his Facebook page last Friday that he "made the difficult decision to no longer proceed with the legal process" after his appeal to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals was denied Wednesday.

However, Brady has given the NFLPA the go-ahead to bring the case to the Supreme Court, according to Mike Florio in this week's Monday Morning Quarterback column on Sports Illustrated's website.

"The reality is that Brady has (per a source with knowledge of the situation) authorized the NFLPA to proceed with the appeal on his behalf," Florio wrote while filling in for the vacationing Peter King.

Brady will still serve his suspension, which was handed down by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on May 11, 2015, for his general knowledge of the Patriots' actions to deflate footballs during the 2014 AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts.

If the NFLPA's appeal to the Supreme Court is successful, Brady could regain the $253,000 he is set to lose while sitting out the first month of the season. More important, such a ruling could reduce the commissioner's disciplinary power.

Brady's legal team includes Ted Olson, a 75-year-old former U.S. Solicitor General under President George W. Bush who has argued 62 times in front of the Supreme Court. Olson was hired to Brady's team in late April.

The suspension was initially overturned by Judge Richard Berman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Sept. 3, 2015, only to be reinstated by the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals on April 25.

Brady is due to miss New England's opener in Arizona against the Cardinals, then home games against the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills. He would be eligible to return Oct. 9 on the road against the Cleveland Browns.

Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to start for the Patriots in place of Brady.
