One of my favorite Jets ever. Named my Golden Retriever "Penny" after him. In all seriousness, she just tore her SECOND ACL a week ago :D

Coslet was so cocky he made us believe early on.

I think he started as 14 and switched to 11

Nothing wrong with his arm pre-injury. His only issue when he was a youngster (according to Herm) was the tendency to get too cerebral while going through his reads, i.e. "sometimes you just got to set up and just throw it." Doug Brien, you'll always owe him.

    He was a hellava QB.

there was a brief window of time back in 2002 when i actually thought the jets were set at QB for the next 8-10 years.....

    then reality set in!

Sounds dumb on my part but it seems like the countdown every year makes it go faster

It definitely does make it go faster. Also not coming on this board every day helps.

He should still be on this roster - but he did have an awful playoffs in 2010.

Two schools of thought on this one. Since 2010, Weatherford's post-season performances were solid esp. putting the ball inside the 20. Last year you can blame it on the gunners, the coverage team or whomever but the Giants allowed over 600 yards on punt returns, a 46.9 yard gross but only a 38.2 net. That said, I would agree (and have stated ad nauseum here) that the Jets have not fully addressed that portion on the special teams. Quigley's a nice directional punter but is not money in the bank consistency-wise.

Speaking of which, remember the number of people in the draft threads who were clamoring for Iowa State's Kirby Van Der Meer?...even suggesting using a 5th to land him?....lmao!

Used to bug my brother when Hall would push his chin strap down to his neck rather than on his actual chin.

he had an awful postseason in 2009 and 2010. he had one big kick at SD 2009, other than that he killed us but I he is a good P and we shouldn't have let him go.

I love Mike Westhoff, but the man dropped the ball in regards to Steve Weatherford. Weatherford was REALLY good during the Giants post-season SB run. That one hurt.

LOL @ Kirby Van Der Kamp - a 5th rounder oh do I remember that one, no teams are contacting this guy. Thank God Idzik doesn't visit the draft forum.

if he was that good for us during either of our playoff runs they may have been SB runs.

Here's the dope on the TGG across-the-board "Van Der Kamp" love. You yourself innocently asked which punters were available and that troublemaker JStokes throws out everybody and their mother's favorite punter, Kirby Van Der Kamp. :D

From a previous thread ("Matt's Post FA Mock")
    "all of your mock drafts.."
