more John Hall... six years here and they never found a helmet that could fit him one thing about John Hall though that I particularly respect: He was one tough kicker. Its very rare that you see a kicker get down the field on a kickoff sometimes before the other guys and lay a lick on the return man. It was not uncommon in his time here to see the returner get passed the initial defenders only to get dropped by Hall like a LB at the 30 yard line. Then there's the story from when he was in Washington. During a preseason game there was a scuffle after the kickoff. Hall came up and knocked out a defensive end, getting called for unnecessary roughness. A defensive lineman knocked out by a kicker- so embarrassing!
Hey Stokes...I have a Black & Green Reebok Pennington jersey (size Med) sitting in my closet. It was a stage prop on a sports show I worked on. It got more camera time than Tom Arnold! It's yours if you want it. Free shipping included.
I met Tom many times at Hofstra and once at his sons football game in Massapequa, a truly nice guy, everytime I saw him I told him "You are our best punter since Curly Johnson" and he would laugh and walk over to me and my sons, never missed an autograph or photo op with a kid, a great guy.
Tupa was awesome. its almost old school and awesome that he was drafted as a 3rd round QB and didn't even start punting until he was in the league for like 5 years and then had a 10+ year career as a punter. like Steve Spurrier or something
