Revis > any player in the draft. There's no way we trade him plus more for an early first. He's simply worth more to our team than another early round QB would be. That would make no sense at all. Without Revis, our defense drops down from 5th overall probably to 15th. I know Cro and Wilson are decent but they are not Revis. There's no chance the Jets are trading Revis, Cromartie or Holmes this year. It would be stupid and would add even more holes to our team. Sure, Cro and Holmes made some mistakes this year, but we won't find a better replacement for the same money, that's the simple fact of the matter.

What about trading Ferguson or including him in a package? He already restructured, but if he's actually on the decline as last season seemed to indicate it might be worth it depending on his market value.

Agreed. All hypothetical scenarios aside, I just don't understand how people can say that Revis is not worth an early first rounder. The whole point of the draft (particularly the first round) is to find a star player that can anchor your O or D for a decade. Revis already is that guy, so why would someone rather have a draft pick as opposed to one of the best CBs of all time (who is just entering his prime)?

Revis isn't going anywhere, but I do think that we'll explore trade options that can free up salary and bring back young talent (probably through draft picks). I'm not sure if D-Brick is going anywhere, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Keller on the move.. especially with Schotty in St Louis looking for offensive fire power. I love Dustin, and we all know Mark does.. but how much value does he present to an offense looking to run early and often? Unless we get a top 15 pick for D-Brick, I don't think it's worth trading him. However, if the FO thinks that D-Brick can be easily replaced by someone like Mike Adams or Jonathan Martin... then maybe, in their minds, it'd be worth trading him for a first + a mid round pick.

Draft picks are much cheaper than Revis and will likely play for longer. That's where their added value comes.

Cornerbacks don't anchor defenses, let alone teams. That's why Revis for an early 1st rounder is a very plausible scenario, if unlikely to happen.

Champ Bailey AND a 2nd round pick went for Clinton Portis after Bailey's 4th season when he had established himself as the best CB in the game.

Just when I think your posts couldn't get any more foolish....

It's possible BB may retire when Tom leaves, but the idea he couldn't give a shit what happens down the line makes absolutely no sense. If he doesn't care about the team after Brady leaves, why would he use a 3rd round pick on Mallett, when he can only help them two or three years down the line, rather than a player that could've helped them this past season.

As far as moving up to #2, I doubt that the Jets have the package to get there, nor do the Pats. The Jets pick is in the mid-teens this year, and should be no higher in the next couple of years unless the roof falls in. The Pats picks are at the end of the first round and they will be picking down there for the foreseeable future. Other teams in the running have much more desirable picks to trade.

King was not the person speculating on the Jets. He said there was an unknown suitor, the other comment was made by someone at rotoworld.

Most years they appeared to do it because of the unpredictability of contract negotiations and cap implications of first round picks. I will find it very surprising if they trade out of the first round in this year's draft.

That trade was before this became a passing league.

From 16 to 2 would take a lot. I would much rather sign Manning and keep our picks.

I was just wondering what people would want the Jets to do if the salary cap didn't exist and players didn't need spinal columns to play football. Thanks for clearing that up.

The two superbowl teams this year had two of the worst secondaries in the leauge.

Cornerbacks are worthless. You need pass rushers.

From most reports, his injuries have healed and he is throwing hard. Stop pretending the dude cant walk or is completely immobile.

And the cap is not an issue as I have said many times. And Manning himself has said he would be willing to work out a cap friendly deal with a team.

So, 0-2. Next cover-up excuse for Sanchez to suck for another year...

You have said it many times with a child-like understanding of how NFL teams manage their rosters, and also with a taint of hate for the current Jets QB. Your posts really can't be taken seriously at all.

You're nothing but a troll now.

Most reports say Manning can stand still and throw a ball. Woopy so can Chad Pennington. What matters is how he does after he takes hits.

Do most qb's do it while jumping and doing 360 twirls in games?

He was cleared for football activity back in December. That means taking hits.

Spare me. All the gm "experts" on here who babble about the cap, and "understand" how NFL teams manage their rosters, are not NFL gm's for some odd reason.

And I dont have a taint of hate for Sanchez. I have a complete disdain for him. I think he is one of the worst starters in the NFL, and is basically not an NFL caliber qb.

You have made 2 posts in the past month about something other that the QB position. You're nothing but a troll, and a pretty boring one.

Here's a little taste of reality: Sanchez will be here for the next 3-4 years at the very least whether you it like or not. He has a winning record and the coach's full support.

If you don't like it, stfu and don't watch the games. Nobody likes a whiny bitch.
