we didn't have a top 3 D and top 5 run game both playoff runs and let me know when mark has Rice, Pierce, Boldin, Smith, Pitta, Jones & Dickson. maybe then the O could run through him?

    LT/Greene 2010: 4.16 YPC
    Rice/Pierce 2012: 4.59 YPC

almost half a yard higher per carry but we had a top 5 run game and Flacco carried Baltimore.

Mark Sanchez has only won one less playoff game then Aaron Rodgers in the last 4 years.

Sanchez isnt half the QB Rodgers is,Ur Seeing the real Sanchez now without a top 5 defense and running game. This is who Sanchez really is. I remember the Patriot game in the playoffs , our defense played possibly there best game that day coverage wise, We won that game because of them not Sanchez

If you watched the games like you say you do and no one else does, it wouldnt even be an argument. Flacco carried that team. I love Ray Rice as a RB, I think he's great, but he didn't do shit in the playoffs. That team ran through Flacco and he had one of the best post seasons ever. Why must you argue with that? Its laughable to compare Sanchez and Flacco now.

And yes we did have a top 3 D, at least in the regular season, and we also had a top 5 rushing offense in the regular season in terms of yards. Things may have changed in the post season but stats are stats. Our running game may have tailed off due to injuries or whatever the circumstance, but my point was more so in reference to getting to the playoffs.

Again, as I said yesterday to someone else, no offense intended, but you might consider that you might have a pattern of being overoptimistic.

Sanchez Fans like to talk about the playoffs in 9 and 10. Putting aside that he had little to do with the successes in those years, the other implicit, or even overtly made in some cases, assertion is that he bears down in the clutch.

This ignores his play down the stretch in 11. Jets at 8-5 had destiny in their hands to make it to the playoffs again. And Sanchez responded by shitting the bed in one of the most awful stretches of Qb play I have ever witnessed. He pretty much lost me there (ftr last off season I thought the Jets were stuck with him going into 12, and THAT season would be one last chance to succeed - and of course he failed, so I am done with his loser ass).

No, there is no reason to think of Sanchez as a clutch player. Just the opposite.

It all comes down to the Quarterback position. If Rex is blind and they give Sanchez a second "last chance", the team will fail to top 6 W's again. If the reigns are given over to someone line Greg McElroy, Matt Moore or Tarvaris Jackson, I could see 8-9 W's and if the job is given to a rookie QB, who the heck knows.

Bottom line: They're not reaching the postseason or winning the Super Bowl in 2013 regardless. They could somewhat compete with a QB change though.

You shouldn't be marginalizing posters because of incorrect predictions. Nobody here is an expert. If they were they'd be working in an NFL front office and not wasting time on here. Further, there is nothing wrong with a "fan" being overly optimistic about their hometown team. Sports for many is an outlet to get away from the drudgery of the day to day of real life. If you can't have good happy thoughts in an area that's ultimately meant to be fun, then you must be a pretty miserable person. You can be whatever you want, but trying to pull this whole "cred" bit only makes you look bad.

There are certain posters who are transparently terrible and that comes through in their opinions and methods of communicating with other posters. You don't need to join them by marginalizing others because you got something right and they didn't in this one particular case. We've all had our share of hits and misses.

I don't know what you mean by marginalize.

As for the rest of your post, I suppose if one, such as apparently includes yourself, is not concerned at all about credibility, then they probably are less disturbed by homeristic chestthumping, and worthless, over optimistic predictions. To be sure I am not surprised to find such baseless prognositications here or elsewhere. Not the least bit shocked, or even dismayed. But I do see a purpose in pointing out they are based more on hope than an honest and truthful attempt to predict the future.

Some see little point in distinguishing between hopes and expectations. For myself I see little benefit in having my unrealistic hopes transformed into firm expectations. There will be disappointment enough if my hopes are not realized, but feeling like I may have been a fool in the process for expecting their realization, for me, only makes it worse.

So my hopes are the Jets go 19-0 next year, and thrash the Pats and fish in the process. My expecatations?

    Not so grand as that.

So, on the bolded part, I disagree if the over optimistic fan's prediction for next year is based on no real analysis, but instead is pure homerism. Feel free to disagree with me, and I hope avoid the not so subtly shaded personal attack, implying that I am a miserable person. Quite the contrary - I feel great when I enhance my credibility here.

As I've said before, being a fan doesn't mean that you can't objectively look at your team and notice failures.

When the game is on, I'm a maniac. I scream. I curse. I throw shit. I'm a complete asshole because I want so bad for the Jets to win.

But when I analyze the team itself, I'm smart and rational enough to realize if the product is good or not.

So, if I read your post correctly, you'll trade 2 wins, and no playoffs....for a worse drafting position?

Moore, and Jackson, are warmed over garbage. Sanchez is a mishandled top 5 pick.

But you go with someone you're branding as a losing QB, to move down in the draft?

    Interesting perspective....?

Flacco was outstanding, he didn't carry anything though.

Rice had 2 good games and 2 mediocre/bad games, same w/ Pierce. The only game both struggled was the SB where Jacoby Jones was the real MVP.

we were 6th in PA in 2010.

top 5 rush O when you count the meaningless week 17 game where we had 300 yds rushing and Brad Smith WC and reverses. We weren't close to a top rushing team in reality that year, we were up and down and overall were good.

Matt Moore is 2-1 against Mark Sanchez

    That means he's better right?

Not even close. Separated Shoulder, Concussion, also benched, and was so underwhelming Carolina drafted Jimmy Clausen, and let Miami have hi.

Now, if you think concussion or shoulder injury is the way to go The jets shoild bring back ole noodle arm.

    Another Big Blocker fave.
