Well said, plus...this is supposed to be a "run first" team anyway.

And we've still got Dustin Keller, we are gonna be fine this year, and more importantly better in the future.

I'm just curious, this whole thread centers around people whining about Jericho getting cut.. I mean, where is the outrage of the negativity, no?

Yeah, and the "powers that be" ALSO thought Rich Kotite was a good choice to head coach our asses too. Dumb ass move! Cotchery was a great 3rd receiver for us. Watch the Pats go out and grab his ass.

Good post.....this move was done with an eye on future cap projections...not 2011. Mason and Burress are both 1-2 year rentals. Holmes will be around for years and the Jets will build around him with Kerley, a high 2012 pick perhaps 3rd round, and dont forget Turner who is tall and has shown potential....Jets will be fine in this dept....

People love talking about them as if theyre a fantasy team or something. The fact of the matter is that if they were to ever lose Revis, Harris, Mangold, Sanchez, Holmes, or Brick, guys who are long term centerpieces and essential to this team, it would be baaad. Another fact of the matter is that there is a salary cap.

Get over it. Believe it or not, they actually just UPGRADED at the position. I liked J-Co as much as any of you, but it is important to have some perspective. They were likely to eventually lose him anyway...they are doing it now because they found a replacement.

They upgraded if Mason signed. I haven't seen any confirmation of this.

You sure? A 37 year old for J-Co, and a (soon to be) 34 year old who has been out of the league for two years replacing BE?

Granted, J-Co has the back issue, but a 37 year old with nice numbers who may or may not be able to get separation is one issue. The other is a guy you have NO IDEA what he brings to the table after being out of the league for 2 years vs a guy with off the field issues but, had a very good, productive year.

Are you SURE we upgraded? I hope so, but there is no way to be sure.
