I really hope we don't go and dump another $6 million into Cromartie. $30 million dollars into three players at one position is never good regardless of the position.

And teams go 50 years without winning a Super Bowl.

Part of me wants Cro because it will bring one of our biggest areas of weakness to a strength with Revis, Cro, Skrine, Milliner, McDougle, etc. but another part thinks we are pretty good at the position as it is and doesn't want to spend money we could spend elsewhere (i.e. FS, OL, OLB, QB).

I think I'd prefer to get a legit FS, shift Pryor to SS and have: Revis, Skrine, Milliner + depth at CB, new FS and Pryor + depth at safety. We could do both, of course, but the cap has to be considered as well.

I think this Cro thing is happening so embrace it and move on. we go from worst secondary to possibly best overnight- or at least one of the best. Imagine the havoc Mo and Sheldon will wreak on opposing QBs now?

Assuming Wilkerson and Richardson are even Jets two years from now. And that's where the issue lies with all this money we are dumping into the secondary (beyond the fact we have other needs). The impact on the field all of these moves will have is tremendous. But it's kind of irresponsible to overlook the cap ramifications.

Cro coming back finishes the dream scenario for us. I'm down with adding Cro

We're going to pair one of the top cornerback trios with one of the top DL trios. I can't remember having a defense this talented (including Rex's first 2 years).

Dude Shelden and Mo will be Jets, you realize players restructure and some do get cut? D'Brick has like a $17M cap number and probably gets cut or redone

I understand but too late to worry about that, I still expect Mo to get his new deal and we have a couple of years to worry about Sheldon.

Chucking and praying isn't my favorite strategy. I would have much rather taken care of our own before spending any money but I guess there's no choice now.

I hear you and I thought you made a lot of sense but it's not the route we are taking. Hopefully this works out.

Imagine we get a stub OLB in the draft defense could be great

Exactly, this would make an already great defense truly elite! And if Pryor starts to develop into the player we thought we were getting when we drafted him in the 1st round last year, and Coples continues his improved pass rushing and really blossoms under Bowles, imagine how great this D can be!!! :)

Really, with all the talent on this roster, we really only need average QB play to be a great team!

Pretty much, would rather have a young Rahim Moore on probably a cheaper contract to play over the top and allow pryor to develop at his natural position. Not going having a real FS would continue to stunt Pryor's development.

Once again, FS can be addressed in the draft. If Gerod Holliman slips to our 2nd round pick, it's elite talent at a great price. He's a certified ball-hawk

We will have somewhere around $40 million next offseason.

You think Mac and Co. aren't designing these contracts to allow them the capability of signing the two biggest pieces on our defense? Give me a fuckin break.

Enough of your negative bullshit. Just stop posting.
