My buddies and I would go to a lot of concerts at SPAC to party(and hopefully meet some ladies) in the park and then we would walk up and buy lawn seats. I can't stand Jefferson Starship(Huey Lewis, too) but Loverboy was pretty good at the time.
Xanadu is one of my favorite Rush songs. They do a great job with the exception of the vocals. Les Claypool is a great musician but his singing is atrocious.
100%.... but I'm glad he just went with it, instead of trying to sound like Geddy Lee, which would be worse imo
@Savatage probs for that collection, even the Loverboy one! I've seen a few of those bands in my earlier days too and there's a few names like The Tubes I'd totally forgotten about. Wish prices were still that affordable! Extra probs for the Aldo Nova supporting act stub. He was touted as the next big thing at one point I seem to recall.
Thx Mo! I wish all the stubs had the opening acts on them. From what I recall: Bryan Adams opened for the Kinks Yngwie Malmsteen opened for AC/DC Riot opened for Rainbow Bon Jovi for the Scorpions-We got backstage for that one. I swear I towered over all the Scorps members, I'm 6'1". Bon Jovi for .38 Special-that one you can see. Anvil for Dio or maybe that was Rainbow Iron Maiden opened for that Judas Priest show......one of my favorite shows! Billy Squier opened for Pat Benatar.....that stub is gone with many others. Split Enz(remember them?) opened for one of the Tom Petty shows Visitor/Foghat-Blue Oyster Cult That's about all I can recall
We saw the Allman Brothers open for Tom Petty at the outdoor venue in Hartford. The Brothers must a felt a little disrespected as they completely blew the doors off Petty. Petty was great, the AB just had it going on that night. We only got to see the AB one last time at the Foxwoods theater. It was Greg’s first return from his liver transplant. The band obviously wanted to shelter him. They played the entire Eat a Peach album. The hit seekers were bummed, but we were in Heaven.
Can't believe it's still in one piece! I just saw that Joe Satriani is playing 2 nights at the Ridgefield Playhouse in CT. It's the size of a high school auditorium. Such a great place to see a show. I saw the B-52's, Daughtry, the Dixie Dregs and Sully Erna there. Sully I saw in the first row. He was less than 8 feet from me. I'm definitely getting tickets to see Satriani.
I saw them on their first farewell tour, with ace and criss. Around 2000. One thing , they do put on a hell of a show.
It's funny how they never go away. It's a birthday present that got postponed for quite awhile now lol Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
It will definitely be a good one to see. Growing up a metal head in the 80s, I hated them. Outside of some of the early stuff. After seeing them, I definitely had a new respect. Still don’t care for much of their stuff after creatures of the night, but they play mostly the classics live anyway.
I really don't want to hear rock n roll all night but I know I'll have to lol. I'm not a huge kiss fan but I loved them as a high schooler so naturally my mom thought 33 year old me would love that for a birthday present Sent from my SM-F926U using Tapatalk
Well, Les Claypool's basslines weren't the only funk I got into the other night.... unfortunately, got a covid care package as a parting gift
