My exact feelings. I'd be happy with all three, prefer London overall and especially as a fit within this offense/WR room. I wish he was actually 6'5" but he's the best "go up and get it" guy in the draft and that's what we need badly. Think Eli/Plax. Eli was allowed to be a little (or a lot) off on his throws because he had someone that could just go snag it. Worked wonders for him.
Wilson measured 5'11.5 and was listed at 6', I don't think this measurement is that surprising or changes anything about him as a prospect. He also has really big hands for someone his height.
I've heard some rumors that Olave is the superior athlete. It'll be interesting to see the overreactions when this is all said and done. Honestly Wilson reminds me a bit of Elijah Moore. Clearly a great athlete and first round prospect but got knocked down cause of size
What other WRs is everyone else keying in on today? For me Tolbert and Watson. Pickens too, although the injury history scares me.
Pickens is interesting. Similar situation to Stingley where the freshman tape was amazing but the injuries kind of derailed his ascent up draft boards. Still will be surprised if he doesn't go late round 2 early/round 3 (Jets?).
I want to say Vilma indicated he knows someone who coached Pickens and said he's a complete shithead. Lots of talent though for sure.
the 40 only matters when you are already behind the defense and trying not to be caught. outside of that you'll very rarely see an NFL player run 40 yards in a straight line unimpeded. acceleration and agility is more important. 10 yard split and 3 cone drill
Probably a good time to let us not forget the physical beast that is metcalf who fell from a top 10 pick to 64 for some ungodly reason even after running a 4.33 40
Christian Watson NDSU WR Christian Watson: 6'4" 208 lbs 32 1/2" arms 10 1/8" hands If he runs a 4.4 as expected he's gonna fly up boards. He was also loved at the senior bowl. may jump from a 3rd-4th round guy to a 2nd rounder maybe even 1st
The tape is awesome too, but the level of competition is tough to reason about. I'm thinking he'll settle into late second/early third because of that. It definitely helps that he played so well at the senior bowl
he's making a good case for himself for sure classic case of overthinking. but many elite athletes fail, especially at the WR position so it's understandable if the film and competition doesn't pop. for every metcalf there is a kevin white, justin blackmon, harry, john ross, corey coleman etc
You're talking about London, right? In some of the video I saw, I would have sworn that he would have run a 4.7 or 4.8, but in some other video, 4.5 or 4.6 looked more realistic. I hope he does run slow. Maybe then the Jets will take him off their board entirely.
