Question: would it just make 0 sense to consider Kuelchy to play OLB on our D? He's certainly big enough and is the most athletic LB at the combine...
Kuechly is too small to play OLB in a 3-4. He'd need to add 15 lbs to let him set the edge against the tackles who get outside. Really he's too small to play in a 3-4, although the position he'd probably be best in is the sweeper position that David Harris plays with a bigger backer taking on guards inside for him.
how is kuechly to small br4dw4y5ux? hes bigger than aaron maybin and he was really good at getting sacks for rex ryan.
He wasn't in the top ten to start but me thinks he likely goes toward the bottom 1/3rd of the first round.
agree WW - have been able to watch spurts of the combine and i came away with similar observations. more and more i think about it i am coming off the upshaw wagon for our 1st pick and convincing myself about a trade out of 16. really not sure about ingram at 16. to me that still may be a bit high. have to see how FA shakes out
Brodney Pool is bigger than Maybin. Well, almost, but you get the idea. Maybin is a 3rd down, pass rushing specialist, He is not an every-down OLB with pass rushing skills.
