I never understood the Mr Electric van avatar....very fucking wierd. He's almost stalking you E.

Back on topic.....the Jets are in a win now mode..Tanny has eased on character concerns a bit. Paranoid Mangini is long gone.

hahaha I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it.

I completely agree. It's obvious that Tannenbaum was handcuffed by Mangini.

Like I said earlier, Tannenbaum's traded for three guys with big time character concerns and look how those moves have worked out.

    Dowling with a 4.40 40 , god damn! Nice speed for a high safety/ corner pro-type recruit.

4.33 for Chimdi Chekwa the next Oakland Raider.

Those guys only had either 1, or 1.5 years left on their contracts, and they were as cheap as it gets. It's not the same type of commitment you offer an early draft pick.
Not to mention, Tanny just drove the bus over Cro, and unless its a negotiating tactic, he's probably not coming back.

Don't get me wrong-- I don't have anything against bringing in a guy with character concerns unless it's really bad, or it's a bitching WR like Owens or Chad Johnson. I want the guys who are going to get us to a Superbow. I just don't see Tanny investing a first round pick on a guy who threw someone out of a window.

And yes, Suggs did beat the ever living shit out of some guy- the pictures looked amazing.

Dowling's should be in the 4.3s - he pulled up with a hammy injury with about five yards left to go. Very impressive.

Chekwa's a good player. I was surprised at that kind of speed.

Fuck him though. He's a poor character player...

I don't understand you, man. You're bashing a talented pass rusher like Sheard for getting into a drunken fight, yet giving compliments to Suggs for doing the same damn thing.

    For whatever it's worth...

Take this with a grain of salt, but I found this at another site:

GH, Mr E, WW85, Maguilla and others (sorry can't remember everyone's names), what do you think about this kid?

I didn't bash Sheard one bit. I said we won't pick him.

I love Suggs, and don't give a shit who he beat up.

I can see what your saying for Holmes ( a 5th rounder) but Braylon and Cro combined wasnt exactly cheap, for there player caliber, yes but what the Jets gave up wasnt nothing in total.

In total the Jets gave up ( for Cro and Braylon) Stuckey, a 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and Jason Trusnik. Not the farm by any means but it was a decent amount of draft picks even up.

All in all these players helped motivate the team and keep us competitive, drafting an asshole is one this drafting an asshole with superb talent is a whole nother subject.

I'd be excited if we drafted this kid late. I think he'll end up at tight end in the NFL.

He's by far the most experience back when it comes to receiving. He's a versatile player - I love watching Tulsa's offense.

Conner is a solid option in the receiving game, but imagine Clay as an H-Back.

We used Keller in the backfield some - Clay could fill that role and spell Conner on certain passing downs.

I know the kid has excellent hands, maybe the Jets will consider looking at Clay in the late rounds with T Rich most likely gone.

In total, those moves did not cost the Jets much at all. Cheap salary, no long term commitment for proven players in a win now year(s).

And that's why your entire argument has been failing.

I think he'll be a versatile tight end that can line up in the backfield in certain packages.

    Imagine a 6'3 245 pound slot receiver...

But you act like a 30th pick gets a huge contract.

They don't get paid that much money. If it were a top 10 pick then your argument might hold water.

You're defending a point that doesn't hold up.

Maybe Sheard can fall to us like Wilson did last year.

Dude, Sheard's stock isn't going to rise to the top 15 like Wilson did and then fall back down to 30.

He's a late 1st rounder at best. Wilson was nearly picked 6th overall by Rob Ryan.

You obviously don't know their current value either.
