We have too. If we used all but one pick on lineman or linebackers, I wouldnt complain too much I have a gut feeling we are going to double dip at rush linebacker in this draft and just blow up our pass rush
I think so too. Tannenbaum will probably bring in a couple veteran defensive linemen on the cheap, while hoping guys like Martin Tevaseau, Jarron Gilbert, and Marcus Dixon develop. ...which leads me to believe that we'll go after young pass rushers high this year and maybe a mid-to-late round defensive lineman.
I'm of the mindset that a DL should be our 1st round pick priority but I'm starting to think that the Jets will go OLB. Wouldn't be surprised if 4 of this years draft picks are front 7 players.
So which of these TGG first round favorites is going to be picked in the 5th round, and not do shit in his rookie year? Just think about Everson Griffen, Ricky Sapp, and our own, Donovan Warren.
Why don't you go make a "bold" predictions in Drew Coleman's Dad's awesome thread? Everson Griffen and Ricky Sapp > Jerry Hughes
Wow, I didn't expect anyone to take that as a personal attack. I actually liked all three of those guys. Not as first rounders, but I liked them. What does Jerry Hughes have to do with any of it?
I didn't take it as a personal attack - I was simply saying that you should make a prediction thread, because your post had little to do with the combine. Jerry Hughes has everything to do with it. A lot of posters wanted him in the first round and it took him half a damn season to earn a job on special teams. Ricky Sapp and Everson Griffen were first round talents that fell for plenty of different reasons. It's obvious now that Griffen is an immature headcase and that Sapp was dealing with a serious injury. The draft's a toss-up.
cameron jordan was impressive, jabaal sheard was a lot faster than i thought and houston is a beast...could aldon smiths stock have dropped with not a great, but still good, 40 time?
just a reminder... LB/DE with the fastest time before Moch... our very own Bryan (the cactus) Thomas... so 40yd dash isn't equal to pass rush.
I thought Brooks Reed got something of a bad break having to do all of his drills right after Rob Quinn, not that Reed is a bad player but Quinn is just a freak Oh Well, lets just hope other teams ignore him so the Jets can pick him up
A player I thought looked bad in drills today...Drake Nevis. Feet in drills looked stuck in cement. Very stiff and not athletic at all. Didn't pass my eye test.
He did look awful, he ran one of the drills backward. His game is based around quickness, and he didnt look very quick
Welcome  His change of direction reminded me of chris long. Long should be an OLB IMO. I never wanted him with his hand on the ground.
He disappeared in the season around the time when people tried to put him and Fairley on the same level. Too inconsistent, most of his hype hinged on his performance against Vandy.
I don't know I would say he disappeared, he definitely was not as productive as he was the first few games, but he was still effective. He certainly had a nice game against Bama. I agree Nevis began to fall when people started to compare Fairley to him.
I was of the same mindset going into that draft. As wierd as it is, I think his athleticism played more into OLB in a pro 3-4 scheme rather than his native DE position. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if we'll ever see him in that capacity - he was damn good for the Rams this season and I doubt they let him hit FA once his contract's up.
someone said this about Houston (who I like) Justin Houston busted his ass twice in the linebacker COD drills. Awful hips. Strictly a 4-3 end. not good fit if so...don't need another Gholston in here...
